you need to check the connections on the rear window and see if you have power there. if you have the element in the window has had it but if not start by checking the wiring where it comes from the car to the tailgate. Has the rear wiper packed in as well ??

first thing is to remove and clean the idle control valve which lives down the back of the engine underneath the inlet manifold. also remove the rubber trunking to the throttle body and make sure the butterfly inside moves freely when the throttle is operated, if not clean with some carb cleaner

is your speedo and temp/fuel gauge lit up? if not has the dashboard dimmer been knocked? all your dash lights on the same circuit, have a look at your fuses see if any are blown but these little bulbs are a common failure
