What product to fill between (sarking) boards

The existing slates run right up to the end of the boards and I'm hoping not to strip the roof.

What are two part wood fillers like for being able to nail into?

What product to fill between (sarking) boards

I am extending my roof and have a sitiation where the existing sarking boards (6 x 1 softwood boards) will butt up against the new boards. There is a small gap (say 2-3mm) bewteen the ends of the boards which is, unfortunately, exactly where some of the slate hooks need to land. Can anybody...

Can anyone advise on waterprrofing rock face in solum?

Thanks for that. It was a quick sketch to show the shapes so I didn't put all the details in but the drain will be wrapped in a geotextile.

Can anyone advise on waterprrofing rock face in solum?

Here's a picture. As a belt and braces approach, the wall at the back of the basement has been designed with the strength to retain whatever is thrown at it. It's eight inches of reinforced concrete. In fact, the ground behind the wall won't touch it as the rock face is stable and is about...

Can anyone advise on waterprrofing rock face in solum?

Thanks for the replies. The site doesn't slope that steeply. The rock face in the solum is steep because it sits behind what the amercicans would call a walk out basement. It's not going to be an area that is used at all. I am hoping that there shouldn't be much water trying to come out...

Can anyone advise on waterprrofing rock face in solum?

I am building a house (for me) which is on a rocky, sloping site. There is a solum behind the rooms downstairs at the front that rises steeply and then levels off. The face of the steep bit is a very uneven rock surface. Has anybody got any suggestions about how I can treat this to seal...

Plasterboard in garage - detail where it meets the floor

I am building an ICF house, starting with the garage. As the walls are polystyrene, I have to cover them with plasterboard to fireproof them. Once it's all boarded, the bottom metre in the garage will be covered with plywood to take all the knocks. Attaching the plasterboard is no problem...

    Velux flashing question (slate roof)

The fixing brackets are screwed onto the sarking boards, i.e. the deck. A mate who is a builder came round to check that I had installed the window correctly and confirmed that it is. I agree that it sounds wrong but the installation instructions actually show it that way (when you look at...

    Velux flashing question (slate roof)

The slates are actually straight on to the boards but as far as I can see this doesn't make any difference. Sarking boards are effectively just like extra wide battens. I spoke to Velux yesterday and the answer is that where the soakers pass the sides of the drainage channel, they have to be...

    Velux flashing question (slate roof)

Can anyone help me with a Velux flashing question? I am trying to install a Velux GPL (top opening) above a GIL fixed element. The windows are installed on the roof and I have been installing the flashing kit today. The problem I have got is that when I come to install the drainage...

Eaves support tray - should overlaps be sealed

Thanks very much for all the comments. I spoke to the Klober technical helpline who said there was no need but I must confess that I agree with hammerswinger - it can't hurt can it. Wind driven rain is a big issue up here so it's a belt and braces approach on everything.

Eaves support tray - should overlaps be sealed

Can anybody answer a question for me on eaves support trays? I am about to use the Klober eaves support tray on my new garage. The installation instructions say that they should be overlapped by 100mm. Should the join be sealed with some sort of mastic? If so, what do you recommend...
