    Large Lamp post

Yes, the pole and lantern come apart. The lantern sits on top of the pole

    Large Lamp post

No, I have fitted a few with an inspection chamber but these don’t have one. So I have to do the connection at the top and then place the head on the post

    Large Lamp post

Hey Guys, I am fitting three large cast Iron Lamp posts for my brother next week. The main head is removable to allow me to do the connections etc, however, to help with the fitting I was thinking of using an inline plug and socket. I found these on Amazon and was looking your thoughts or does...

    Magnaclean Installation

Thanks for your reply, there is a wall to the left of the picture, I could run longer pipe, clip it to the wall and then back down. Would that be ok? There would be a few 90 degree turns to get it onto the wall and I would insulate everything as well.

    Magnaclean Installation

Hey Guys, I want to install a Magnaclean on my system, however, I'm a little unsure as there is very little space to fit it. I have taken a photo and attached it below to show you what I mean. The magnaclean needs to go on the return to the boiler but does it go before or after the pump? Would...

timber decking structure: to beam or not to beam?

Both options are perfectly fine, it really comes down to the space you have and how you want the end product to look. Option A is perfect for decks that you want to remain close to the ground with maybe a small step. Its also useful where you don't have much clearance under a patio door etc...

    Paving on top of Concrete

Yep lol, the house is an old council house that my parents bought years ago but before that the house was renovated by the council. I remember the back garden being a huge hole and they filled it all in with concrete, that's why I really dont want to have to dig it all out lol. I also know there...

    Paving on top of Concrete

Hey Guys, Paving season is almost upon us and my parents want a new patio. There is a huge concrete slab in place at the minute and I know is about 500mm deep as I had to break part of it out towards the end of last year to move a drain (Nightmare). My question is, can I lay 400x400mm slabs...

    Self Build - Hopefully!!!

CIL isn’t in Northern Ireland, at the minute. I have a fair understanding of building and some trades, I would love to build it completely myself, but I have to be realistic. I would consider getting in a builder to do the ground works and get the building watertight possibly but with me...

    Self Build - Hopefully!!!

We have a good mortgage advisor who I am going to call this week to get advice etc. I would like to start roughing out a budget to give me an idea on costs etc before going any further. My thoughts are we can release about £70k equity in our house, possibly £75k, we have a bit of savings as well...

    Self Build - Hopefully!!!

Any land we are looking around where we currently live, which is where we want to build, mostly comes with OPP. My only worry at this stage is in order to finance the purchase of the land, I would need to sell our current house and move into rented accommodation. I was thinking if I could get...

    Self Build - Hopefully!!!

Hey Guys, I have always wanted to build my own home and recently, even with what going on, both my wife and I have been thinking about it more and more. I wanted to get an idea on all your thoughts, what you may have done, what you would do differently and also from the trades, what your...

You can do this with a simple point to point antenna system similar to the antenna in the link below. Unifi have a few options and can be setup relatively easily...

    Windening an existing window

It’s not steel, it’s a concrete header from what I can see. 1800mm was from edge to edge. In terms of seeing what’s outside, do I just open up above the window reveal? @Notch7 great idea making one window with a gap in the middle, never would have thought of that. It would make it a lot...

    Windening an existing window

Hey Guys, I am planning to split a large bedroom we have into two, however, there is a window right in the centre of the room that I need to change and im hoping you can all point me in the right direction. The image below shows the current room and window with some measurements. I broke away...
