The bbq has a regulator in it. The Weber pipe is just a patio gas connector to EN417. Do you mean its an option to purchase that pipe, remove the patio gas connector and replace it with a orange propane bottle fitting?

Given we don't know what is happening under the floor boards. If I imagine a scenario where the currently unearthed CH loop pipework could be touching other copper that is earthed such as the cold feed to the bathroom, possibly an intermittant touching based for some reason like floor flexing...
