    Upstand behind hob.

Instead of starting a new thread I wanted to ask; any issues with this? I’m in a similar position myself.

Bitumen DPM + self levelling compound, will it stick?

Ok good stuff, i will give it a third coat of DPM and apply some sand to that to help the SLC stick. Thanks mate

Bitumen DPM + self levelling compound, will it stick?

Evening. Yep I’ve painted the DPM up the walls, higher than the FFL. Do you mean two coats of primer? Or DPM? It’s had two coats of DPM (on top of a watered-down coat). I’d read that sand scattered over the drying final-coat of DPM helped create a key for the SLC, but may have got it wrong...

Bitumen DPM + self levelling compound, will it stick?

Further to this - I’ve just put Black Jack 108 DPM down on a screeded concrete floor. Now looking to self-level… I’ve bought some Screwfix own SLC but have read conflicting information about it adhering to a bitumen emulsion. Does anyone know if it’ll stick? Do I need to prime first? Do I...

    Euro 7

I can’t recall the exact figures, but some googling of the emissions figure will help you see whether your car shows to be too polluting or not.

    Euro 7

As I said above, don’t be surprised if it tells you your vehicle isn’t exempt when it in fact is.

    Euro 7

For petrol users (and maybe diesel too) it’s worth checking your emissions before scrapping; the Euro standard and the TfL threshold are not identical. This may be the same for the other cities too. I have a 2004 petrol Focus that came up as needing to pay the London ULEZ daily charge...

    Clumsy Fibre Install damaged wall

Just stumbled across this thread. Here’s the City Fibre effort: Nowhere near as bad as the OP’s but hurting my OCD.

Are these CH or HW pipes?

Just to update this: The screwdriver-to-ear trick worked a treat, and I can now hear that the 22mm to 15mm loop is in fact the hot water feed, and the 22mm single is on the cold water feed. Thanks all for the help and hints. I can’t get a definite read on the remaining 15mm. The pipes are...

Are these CH or HW pipes?

Thanks for this, it’s making sense now. The combi boiler is fed via a 15mm that I can see coming straight off the main at the stopcock, which is on the opposite side of the room to this. What’s bizarre is that on another thread I posted, the bath is fed by both a hot and a cold 22mm pipe that...

Are these CH or HW pipes?

Oh, so two 22mm pipes and two 15mm pipes flow and return? I have just googled ‘mains cold feed’ with/without ‘Victorian house’ but nothing jumped out as looking similar, so apologies for asking questions that are probably common knowledge to most!

Are these CH or HW pipes?

Oh I think I understand you now - they’re effectively a cul-de-sac, so they don’t lead anywhere but are now spurred off the mains? This makes sense to me now, and could be the answer. I’ll run the heating and see what that looped pipe reads. As for removing them, I presume it’s a case of...

Are these CH or HW pipes?

Hello. Yes, it’s a combi boiler, and the house is divided up in to a flat upstairs and down if that’s makes any difference. Cheers - I will get a thermometer on there and see if I get any change in the reading. And ‘dead legs’ - do these come about when people decide to reroute their pipes...

Why the new cold water feed??

Me again! Can anyone enlighten me as to why the existing cold water feed was not used for the sink and electric shower but instead this copper-in-to-plastic-pipe setup instead? Sorry, I’ve cut most of the plastic pipe off in this photo, but the copper pipe with the plastic elbows runs all the...
