after a bit of advice if anyone could help.
my trusty 240v dewalt dw708 type 1 chopsaw has died on me :( iv tried to source a replacement armature and field aas they are the faulty parts but found they are discontinued.
i can however buy 110v armature and field, is it a possible...
I was invited to their house. Discussed options. Posted them 2 separate quotes. 5 weekslater they booked me in for this month total time from quote deposit job start 9 weeks
They said to me that they realise it will cost them for cancellation. If I work out my hourly rate and losses re postage, restocking and consumable non returns. I'm looking at a grand :(
Paper quote, verbal contract. Nothing was said in regards to cancellation :( I agreed to complete the works as they had requested, to their personal specification

iv worked for a family at various properties for a few years and always had happy clients :)
i recently priced a new mid range bathroom for them at £5700
price accepted happily and i took a £1100 deposit the week after
since then iv ordered most of the materials at a total cost of...
at the time there wasnt anything. i have since put a 10mm earth to gas meter from board and changed the earth from supply to board to 16mm. i dont have any test equipment so cant check if its made any difference
im pretty green when it comes to electrics and just understand the basics...
i hate fridays! dont mind waiting in for my client to ensure everything is ok. my sparky is a good guy and im sure he will Ze at the start everytime now. he was a litle puzzled lol. goes to show that the apprenticeships arent long enough these days and qualifications will never replace...
haha. its my eldests birthday today. wanted to wind him up that hes still not legally allowed to drink but going to wait at the job for northern to turn up instead. 8 cans and a text to the wife to pick me up later is in order :)

the supply looks like swa and the earth is strapped to the exterior of it.
there are no other earthing points.
hope this makes sense :)
