hi all,

after a bit of advice if anyone could help.

my trusty 240v dewalt dw708 type 1 chopsaw has died on me :( iv tried to source a replacement armature and field aas they are the faulty parts but found they are discontinued.
i can however buy 110v armature and field, is it a possible conversion? obviously i would change the plug to 110v as well. the parts lists i have checked show all the same parts irrespective of voltage except armature and shield.

if it can be done i could do it myslf easily and for less than £130. much cheaper than a replacement saw :(

any advice appreciated, cheers

I can't see why not - assuming you have a 110v transformer, of course! Just check the capacitor value across the switch, if there is one.

Switch is probably different on 110 volt because of the higher amperage
