I now have a clamp meter to test earth leakage as advised but have since discovered there is a better but of course more expensive meter available to tes true earth leakage...Megger DCM 300E I now have one with a 40A 400A and 1000A range with a minimum resolution of .01A What is now the...

    Clamp Meter??????????

Anyone recommend what would be the best clamp meter to buy? I'm looking at the Di-Log ones and assume i'll need both AC and DC and one with a good milliamp range. Some of them start at 1mA and some at 10mA i guess starting at 1mA would be better? Also the top range is either 80A or...

    RCD Tripping?????

It could be but most of the lights in the circuit are low voltage and even the mains just use Phase and Neutral.....there are however about x6 lights that are quite large and use Phase Neutral and CPC....could be one of those i guess..... IR????

    RCD Tripping?????

I'm working on a large garden lighting project..... I have x8 circuits all 16A C type breakers. The main switch is a 100A 30mA RCD. When i turn on more than about x5 circuits the RCD trips. I've tested the trip times of the RCD at 1/2 1 and 5 times at 0 and 180 degrees all is fine...
