No offence caused at all, I'm actually more surprised at Tony.
As you said service is all good, but on many occasions it can all go a little awry on here, and Tony didn't know which way it was going when he posted originally, mentioning bodies.
He certainly put the horse before the cart, and yes he doesn't seem to know what he is doing. Ask him to properly diagnose and deduct from his bill the cost of parts and labour. He may not be a rip off merchant and may put it down to experience.
Or call iron naz
OH MY GOD. Really you have to ask this question? I could tell you right now what the problem is but armed with that knowledge you'd probably put me out of business. I'll bet you now, that you don't own a left handed adjustable so think of the cost of all the other tools you need.
ok I'm not...
At the other end of the flexible pipe there may be a valve with a slot for a screwdriver, same principle, the slot will be across the pipe, with a flat head screwdriver make it inline then turn on the black tap. Otherwise you'll need someone to come do it for you.
There are probably 2 little black taps, they will be crossing the pipes leading to and from them, turn each so that it is in line with the pipes for a short time, observe the gauge when doing this. Don't forget to turn back when 1 is reached.
Oh my god, I'm not having a dig here at anyone, but this boiler, although prone to certain faults and not brilliant engineering is diagnosable/ fixable quite easily, why advise a new boiler.
I'm 99.9% certain I know what the problem is, you say it's for a customer, i.e your'e going to make money out of a reasonably easily diagnosed boiler, no way you are registered.
I've plumbed mine into the hot, because hot water washes better than cold, so must be a numpty  you have a combi so just turn it off. Hey presto cold water.
