Actually i think i might be able to remove the hinge from the top of the window - need to buy an offset screwdriver first. But maybe that's how they did it.
Our bathroom window it's starting to leave a little gap on closing so I've bought new friction hinges to fix the problem.
I've managed to find identical hinges to the originals so the holes should match up
Only one problem, the hinges are embedded in a "groove" and I'm really struggling to...
We've thought about putting it in the kitchen/dining room but its effectively at the dining end of it and would spoil the aesthetics (even if boxed in).
Other option is to put it in the bedroom directly but I understand even modern boilers are a bit noisy and so would wake someone up

I currently have an old combi boiler in an outhouse off my kitchen - originally the outside loo I think. I want to replace this because its inefficient and keeps breaking down (20+ years old I'm told).
If I keep it where it is, I need to install lots of frost protection for the condensate...
I'm being quoted £550 to fit:
- one new radiator (easy access via crawl space under floor for plumbing)
- move one radiator from one wall to another
- 3 TRVs
He's also quoted £130 to supply and fit magnaclean.
Does this sound reasonable? The guy did the plumbing when my kitchen was...
We've a radiator upstairs from the boiler that is double and the back side gets hot but the front doesnt. The heat or lack of it is consistent at the top and the bottom, although the very bottom is warm close to the pipe.
It looks like an old radiator and the in/out pipes are all on one...
