Is that something I can do myself? I have the installer code thing, that is how I know the next service date on the control panel is 2018. My installer is not local so would have to travel to fix it. Does it make a difference if I ignore it?
I have an EcoTech 825 Plus combi-boiler that is 2 years old and has had 2 services. The last service was October and I've checked the control panel and the next service is set for October 2018. However last week the controller started displaying 'Service Heat Generator' and the boiler display is...
Hi, I've just noticed our French doors have developed a gap at the top which is wide enough to feel a draft and let water in.
I'm guessing the hinges need to be tweaked to adjust the alignment but I don't know which does what? There seems to be two screws and two Allen key holes on each hinge...
We are on the verge of having a kitchen diner conversion and as part of the work our window fitter (who is replacing all the windows and doors in the house) is also going to brick up the old kitchen door and replace it with a window so it is ready for when the builders to do the internal work...
We are in the process of getting quotes together for a new kitchen diner - the work will comprise of a new kitchen, removal of a partition wall, bricking up of old kitchen door replacing it with a window, and reconfiguring the electric sockets and plumbing etc.
What I'm not sure about is if...
Not sure what mine carries - problem is there is nothing wrong it with - I just want it changed for cosmetic reasons so I'm not sure I could get anyone to pay for mine...
We have two rather unsightly concrete manholes in the middle of our lawn that we would really love to do away with. Due to the position of them it is impossible to hide them under a planter or in a path etc and the only viable option is to replace the covers with grass-top covers that I have...
Question as subject, I'm waiting on a part which won't be here until tomorrow but I really want to turn the hot water on if I can? The radiators are drained and I've tied up the ball in the expansion tank. It is an old two valve boiler as pictured, if I only turn on the hot water will it damage...
Don't get me wrong, a lot of it is baffling and even the basics would have been beyond me without sites like this. But whereas I wouldn't go messing with electricity or gas (obviously) tinkering with the water pipes is a bit more accessible.
I fully intend to pay a professional to replace...
Yes just doing a bit of DIY from help here and YouTube. It's a lot more straightforward then I first thought although obviously I'm only doing the very basic stuff, anything beyond changing existing fittings I would get someone in. I've already got a radiator key thanks to a video I watched...
Ok guys now that the radiator is off I can confirm that it's not the valves. When I open the right valve I get a slow but steady flow of cold water (bit more than a trickle) so this is the return pipe. The other pipe gives a much stronger flow of hot water so is the feed pipe. Is this flow...
Could you elaborate on that please?
I was hoping to use these valves as I am looking for a cheap and cheerful temporary (18-24 month) solution to extend the life of my old system...
