Lime plaster has been applied to wood wood boards and shrinkage has occurred after 2months. Will the caulk thats been added fix this problem or best to start again?

No i've removed that already. It too was rotten at the ends.

These aren't nailed on, they rest on the wall plate. I'll have to take a picture.

Hi, The wall plate on the side of my house has perished. Im thinking of buying some new wood 11"x 1" x 6 metres (in two sections) treating it and then propping up the rafters with acro's an inch so i can slide the old out and in with the new. Does this sound feasible? Any caveats?

Its the sand and cement plaster thats sucking up all the water. Chip this off and use lime plaster.. Also if your going to take the external render off, leave it off..

Hi, Whats the best way of attacking this room? There was rising damp up to about 1m, i've removed the plaster and the wall seems to be breathing now. I was considering doing under floor heating, is it worth doing on a property like this or should i just install some cast iron...
