    Knocking Cold Water Pipe

No, the old one was disconnected/dry. The cold water pipe used to run through the attic and to the bathroom, but we had them redirected through the kitchen (for the bathroom).

    Knocking Cold Water Pipe

Hi all. I'm trying to find the source of my knocking cold water pipes. It only seems to happen when nothing is in use. I have a new mini arrestor on the washing machine. I've bled all the radiators. Switched off the main (bore) valve and opened all the taps to drain the water, then slowly...

    Wizard PC 50 tank

Hi folks, I have an unused water tank in the loft, with two water pipes into the base, stopcocks on both pipes. They are bone dry. Would I be right in thinking it's safe to remove? The cold water pipe is diverted around (not connecting) the dry tank.

    Can I remove Old lintel.

Gonna touch on this again, there were bricks (well made imperial sized) above the lintel. Which were clear of the joists on both sides. The lintel itself goes into the wall by roughly 40mm, the bricks are about 80mm width. It also looks like it has been packed after the load bearing wall went...

    Drymix under paving slabs?

Hi folks. Onto the bottom end of the sloped, gravel covered 'garden'. Under the old slabs is at least 15cm of drymix. Underneath the gravel, which I've just discovered is MORE drymix. Why would anyone want so much of this? With the garden having a diagonal slope towards the fence. I want to...

    Can I remove Old lintel.

No joists touching it. The lintel goes into a wall. Which looks like it was poorly packed to fill the gaps.

    Can I remove Old lintel.

Image from outside. The wall to the right is a supporting wall. The lintel sits above that cupboard door.

    Can I remove Old lintel.

Afraid it's not possible, that's inside the cupboard.

    Can I remove Old lintel.

Hi folks. I'm removing an old brick cupboard in the kitchen. The cupboard walls themselves are not supporting anything. Although it has a concrete lintel that goes into a supporting wall at 90 degree angle. (Image attached). Does anyone think this can be easily removed then replaced with...

    Supporting or not?

Finally got round to looking above the cupboard. Seems there is only one supporting wall. Cupboard walls aren't touching joists above, so good to knock down. Just need to be careful of the water pipe and try cut the concrete shelf, that could be part of supporting wall.

    Pipe Puzzle

Hi folks, Whilst recently in the crawl space. I've figured out why the hot water takes so long to reach the bathroom upstairs (directly above the combi). The pipes go under the utility room, across the floor (blue) and up the wall in the corner (water stop valve marked with red), around the...

    Supporting or not?

Yep, sub-floor. That'll be the next project to keep her happy. Thanks
