Sound advice thank you everyone.
Going to whip the bag off tomorrow, test it all out to see if it's stopped pushing/pulling and if so hold my nose and get back up in the loft and connect it to the roof vent.
I can think of reasons to both yes and no to this question... but is there a...
Unfortunately not as it's within a plasterboard wall. There is air access into the cavity from above but it have to cut a hole in a wallpapered wall to gain access so would be a last last resort if that makes sense.
The 4" or the one on the shower run 40mm?
Please see images attached of the trap.
Firstly such comprehensive replies of help thank you so much. I recall you helping me with stuff before so thank you again.
What is mega annoying is that the kitchen ceiling below had massive access holes for months so I could do the pipework and fix any issues for about two months and after...
heyyy. So I looked at the trap with the top off when flushing the toilet and it did move up and down and definately a few mm lower afterwards.
I then did you bag suggestion so nothing in or out there and it's doing exactly the same.
It's so annoying as the main stack has one and so does the...
Hi. Thanks for your reply. It's probably best if I do a drawing in the morning.
Basically I have a soil stack coming up from the ground downstairs vertically. It then elbows horizontally for about 1 metre before elbowing up through the floorboards and joins to the bathrooms' toilet. Before the...
Hi all. So I fitted a new shower a couple of months ago and noticed I'm getting a sewer gas smell every now and then. I have checked and it appears to be coming from the shower trap.
Every couple of days the shower looks like the attached image. When I add water or use the shower the smell...
Hi all. So I'm about to start re-tilling my bathroom. I have a section of wall where the 1700x800mm shower is going that is MR board that I want to either board over or replace with some form of backer board. Be it cement or the foam board ones.
But one wall of the shower (the 800mm side) is...
So I went out today and bought 50mm just to be safe. Do you think I should whack an AAV on that line too or do you think the 50 will be ok?
I also bought sweeping bends instead of the 45s
Just thinking... even if I did the whole shower pipe in 50mm pipe, would it actually make any difference as the shower trap outlet is only 40mm? Would it still be better than running 40mm pipe?
So... another day on it. I reconfigured the boss and the toilet stack. Cut a load of floorboards and got into some tight spaces to take the stack apart to re do it a different way. Had to de-braise that copper pipe in the pic and move it the other side as it was in the way. I now plan on going...
Thank you. I'll do some workings tomorrow and get that falling straight after the trap.
Ok so the shower head is a 300x300 square rainfall style with a 1/2" fitting (no output rating on website)
The mixer unit doesn't have anything other than minimum and maximum pressure (0.5-5 bar) but has...
Ok so been on the calculator. I think I can move the original joining elbow and boss down a little add 90mm to the overall fall.
I've done a sketch if you wouldn't mind double checking my theory and workings out.
I think I should be able to get 64mm/m.
The overall difference in heights...
