Prowarm / Aquadry shower drain fitting & coupling problems

Hello, I'm hoping someone's encountered this before and might be able to help. I'm finally getting 'round to fitting a couple of shower trays. It comes as a PROWARM 30mm end drain shower tray. It looks identical to an AQUADRY kit I've also seen. It's a 30mm pre-moulded backerboard with a drain...

Vaillant ECOTEC plus 825 or 832?

@lanmcd OK, thanks. I think I understood right, the 25kw is more than enough for the heating, and even if the water flow increased (Thames Water could produce a miracle!) a couple of litres/minute, the 25kw would still be more than enough.. Cheers again.

Vaillant ECOTEC plus 825 or 832?

Hello all.. I'm planning to replace my combi soon and am wondering which of the Vaillants to go for - the ECOTEC plus 825 or 832? I don't fully understand the differences (efficiency, power, capability etc.) but I have a two bedroom / one bathroom flat (draughty) with double panel radiators...

    Identifying glass in DGU

@ronniecabers Yes, it was a Merlin laser, and yes, he placed it on the glass surface. Thanks for the info. Sounds like I shouldn't worry too much then. Also, the panes are for doors to a courtyard - four to a door on the upper half, and relatively small (260x420mm) and in a Mediterranean...

    Identifying glass in DGU

I have a sililar(ish) question.. Is there any way of identifying which side the coating is on? I bought a number of DGUs in 2019 and am finally going to fit them. I watched a (very informative) video on glazing a sash and the carpenter used a laser to check the coating and then ensure it faced...

Shaver socket - minimum height from countertop basin stand?

Hello all. I have a quick one.. I've read around a lot, but have no definitive answer yet. I'm looking to position a shaver socket by a countertop basin which will primarily be used for an electric toothbrush. For this reason, I don't want it too high so the charger cable can simply remain...

Combi fan cycles every time even when cold water is used?

I hope someone may be able to help please.. I'm not sure I've only just noticed this, but of recent our Worcesester (non condensing) boiler does a short fan cycle each time any water is used - either hot or cold. I'm pretty sure that it hasn't done that before? The fan cycles when the...

Hi.. I just received a set of Grohe shower taps with an 'S' union wall escutcheon kit, and the 1/2 male end has linear scores all the way along the thread.. Am I right in thinking that this for use with threading sealants? I'm currently using Loctite 55, and not hemp/paste, and the...

Bosch larder fridge - only working on full cold

Not particularly.. It's actually now working on med power, but as soon as you adjust the thermo, it switches the fridge pump off and you have to actually turn the knob to the "off" position for an hour or so before trying to switch the fridge on. You can then turn the dial on to a required...

Removing a BOSCH fridge thermostat / lamp housing ??

I'm having great difficulty removing (without forcing) a thermostat / lamp casing from a Bosch fridge. There's one screw behing a little grey plastic cap (easy), but the lamp assembly seems to be holding tight to the fridge side? So the housing is loose, but attached to the fridge with what...
