Interesting Tony but I assure you, the bottom element is linked to the E7 tariff and gives only 5 minutes of hot water before I have to turn the boost on. Could a dodgy rod stat turn it off?

just buzzed out existing cable. All ok. its the ame cable just with 4 ft of cable either end cut out. Maybe I should replace it

no i havent, but, with te new lnb and existing cable I was able to get channels using a much newer box. so still mystified
