Cold water coming from F&E vent pipe when pump stops

Magnet tried and it does stick (but only a little bit) around the tee where the cold feed joins the system but nowhere else on the feed pipe. It does however stick more on the air separator which also has the vent pipe rising vertically from it. Could this be the culprit (even though water is...

Cold water coming from F&E vent pipe when pump stops

Thanks so much for the advice - that all makes sense, although the only way I could blow FROM where the feed pipe joints is to remove the pump and it's a nightmare to get at, so sucking from the feed end might be the way to go. Yep - I cleaned the tank AFTER draining down - which now seems very...

Cold water coming from F&E vent pipe when pump stops

Thanks oldbuffer. Without having to drain the system again, would putting a length of hose into the feed pipe and then giving it a good old 'blow' be enough to clear a blockage or is there a better way? Would I expect to get a load of water come through the vent pipe if this did dislodge a blockage?

At each end of each of these pipes is a manifold where the pipes to/from the radiators are connected...

No there won't be any issues regards fire safety as I will be building a new doorway into the kitchen just past the part of the stair wall that I want to remove. The floor plans attached show the CURRENT layout with the wall and door I want to remove lined in...

    Single Storey Extension Cost

I live in the Peterborough area and am considering a very basic approx. 6m x 3m single storey 'lean-to style' side extension to my detached house. The budget is VERY tight, so am looking for just the shell really and I'd look to do all internal work including the windows and doors myself/with...
