    Ideal 30 boilers

An update.. I spoke to my gasman and he's agreed to install a Vaillant. Many thanks for your advice, I'm much happier with this solution, given the comments I've read on this message board.. You've all been extremely helpful, thanks for your time.

    Ideal 30 boilers

Ok, I'll ask all these questions when I next see Mr. Gasman. Thanks for your advice, hopefully I'll be able to push him to order a better make for a few hundred more. I don't want to be changing this thing in a few months' time.

    Ideal 30 boilers

THanks guys, you're confirming what I suspected. The fact is, this CORGI gasman was the only one I liked of the three who came round, and I've had no luck with other attempts at getting estimates. So I'm a bit strapped. He did say he was going to clean the system, which is why he's replacing...

    Ideal 30 boilers

I've recently had 3 CORGI plumbers come round to give me estimates to replace my old boiler with a combi condensing to go in the airing cupboard in the loft. One never produced an estimate, although he spent an hour looking around. Another gave me a very high estimate. And the final one said...

Advice needed: new shower + Vaillant boiler in loft

I've taken note of the model of boiler too now, thanks. You've both been extremely helpful and now at least I've got some idea of what I should be asking, and expecting. I have realised I need to go to 3 Corgi gas installers, and will make sure they tell me about gas pipe sizes, and compare...

Advice needed: new shower + Vaillant boiler in loft

Aha, so I should be looking at 2 separate people to do this job, as there are no Gas installers round here who are also plumbers apparently. I have found Gas installers in Gosport, so I will make enquiries. Then I will get the plumber who came to have a look to do the bathroom work, if he...

Advice needed: new shower + Vaillant boiler in loft

I'm in Gosport, near Portsmouth. I haven't looked at the Corgi site, I did a search and ended up on the Registered plumber site. I will take a look. I thought tank and cylinder were different things, now I know. Thanks for your help :) ps. The problem is that Gosport is separated by water...

Advice needed: new shower + Vaillant boiler in loft

Thanks Tony, that's really useful. Our 2 bed terrace is definitely at the lower end of the market, and in a lower end location as well, so I'd be comparing it to a Citroen 2CV rather than a BMW! I notice you wrote 'cylinder' - I don't have a hot water cylinder, just the boiler on the ground...

Advice needed: new shower + Vaillant boiler in loft

Sorry, I should have edited. Getting my head round this now. I currently have: - Glowworm Economy Plus boiler on ground floor (to be removed) - Fortic tank and expansion tank in converted loft in separate cupboard mostly insulated (to be removed) - Bath, basin, toilet in bathroom on 1st...

Advice needed: new shower + Vaillant boiler in loft

Sorry I've just read the rules and realised I shouldn't ask for ideas of how much a job would cost. Apologies, I should have read that first.

Advice needed: new shower + Vaillant boiler in loft

Thanks, I did ask him to redesign the layout, as there is a window on outside wall above the end of the bath where the taps are, making it impossible to install a shower head above the current bath. The bathroom is so narrow, we can't have shower and toilet side by side, so the best solution...

Advice needed: new shower + Vaillant boiler in loft

Hi I'm new and have looked through previous posts but haven't found an answer to the following. Building: 2 bed terraced, 2 up/2down, converted, bathroom on 1st floor (2 people living in it). Bathroom: 134cm wide, window on end outside wall Heating/Hot water: Gloworm boiler on ground...

Please, please help - Mixer shower low hot water pressure

Hi, I'm new and having real problems with my shower. When we moved in, we didn't have one, so we changed the taps on the bath and got mixer taps, and attached the shower head above the bath. So far, so good. But unfortunately, whilst the cold water pressure is fine, the hot dies as soon as...
