I thought that might be the case, forgot to ask that in my last post. Will try it and see. I need to then look at balancing all the radiators again with it all running efficiently.
I was away for a few days, but this morning I fully closed the valve before the heating kicked in. Once up to temperature there was a constant temperature difference of at least 10 degrees, I opened it slowly and after a while it started to decrease. I then closed it slightly and it stabilised...
The valve was as per the pic attached when I took the cover off. I turned it fully clockwise which I believe should have closed it, but it didn't seem to do anything. Could be a faulty valve? If so, I take it the whole system would need to be drained down in order to change it?
I think I probably worded things incorrectly. The return pipework goes into the floor and back to the boiler, with the CH return connection under the floor (HW is last in sequence). What I was questioning was around the pipework above the floor. If only the CH was active (valve open) then the HW...
I'm trying to figure out what is going on with our central heating, as I've been looking at ensuring it's optimised. We had some building work completed last year with some of the radiators being changed etc. and the builder didn't rebalance the system so I started looking at things. After...
We have a Beko ASPM341PX fridge freezer with built in water dispenser. When you push back on the pad/lever (or whatever it is called) it doesn't always work. If you push up on it slightly (on the ridges) then it works. I was trying to remove everything to take a look at the issue and try and...
I need to fix our leaking shower but can't remove the faceplate retaining ring. It just keeps spinning around and around no matter which way I turn it. I've tried putting a bit of pressure pulling away from the faceplate when unscrewing it, but nothing. It feels as though whatever it screws into...
Seems as though there is a single large pin that is vertical, but is held in place by the pin that is horizontal. Both are solid from the look of it. I don't want to hit things too hard in case I affect the glass in the door.
I agree, was just working to rough numbers, I was searching trying to get information on how to calculate the water content but there was nothing easily found apart from people stating those figures. Was just a starting point.
Agree, I will be getting it serviced by a registered gas...
I had to completely re-wire our ones, who ever installed stuff had got all of the cables wrong for the valves, not sure how it was working before! I had to map everything out to work out what was what and then work through what changes were needed. I'd suggest getting a pen and paper and working...
The study into the boiler/CH came about originally due to general issues with the central heating. The previous owners hadn't looked after stuff at all and we had major issues with Thermostats (both room and TRVs) and also with the pressure reading on the boiler etc. Due to this I did a lot of...
I understand what you are saying, just that the manufacturer states the expansion vessel requirements, plus I think the internal vessel is damaged internally. Would be nice to have the boiler fully functional and meeting the requirements. For the costs of put the vessel in, I think I'd rather do it.
Whilst looking at another issue I realised I could hear the system water flowing into my hot water cylinder, even though hot water wasn't scheduled to be heating. When looking at the valves something didn't seem right.
I've sat this evening looking at the CH and HW valves (both Honeywell V4043)...
