The boiler hasn't malfunctioned since it did it initially but when the boiler is operating now it seems to make a high pitched noise similar to a kettle. Seems to do it more on the CH than the HW, any ideas please??

From the FAQ is my best bet is to check the voltage on the Orange wire in the airing cupboard where the valve and pump meet? 240v=sticking valve 50-150v something else. No 2x2 port valve, just a 3 port.

It's just more irritating than anything pressing the EXT button and then wishing the damn thing to start. :evil: It makes strange noises coming from the pcb at night like a component breaking down with a high pitched ticking.

Hi Pete, Yes the switched live is fine and I took the head off the three port valve to check the valve moves fine etc. The manual says for flashing orange 'Ext call for heat, temperature control set to off' The time for the pump to start and then boiler fan to spin up can be anything...

I have dripping from my feed/expansion tank overflow. This only occurs when the heating on and boiler fired up. When the heating is off then the overflow does not drip at all. I left the heating off for about ten hours with no dripping. The dripping water appears to be cold but not looked in...

This appears to be the case all the time the valve is in the CH position the motor is trying to turn even when the heating timer is off during the day?! Sound right? Seems a bit of a waste of energy. Thanks for the prompt and reassuring reply.

Sorry to butt in but you hopefully can answer my query. :) Should the motor be held by stalling it or should it be trying to turn? My 3 way BGMVSP-23 stalls in the mid position but is continually trying to turn in the CH only position and the motor is getting quite hot (about 50 degrees C)...

Our pump is set to speed 3 in a 3 bed semi house. Does this sound ok? If I lower the speed to 2 the heating seems to take quite a bit longer to reach temperature.
