    Aqualisa eMotion shower fault

Ah, so. The plot thickens. They came out again, same engineer as last time. This time though, the engineer had seen a few more of these break... and what do you know, but the one spare part he brought with him was broken in the packet! He allegedly only replaced the front panel this time...

Smart meter sizes, and suppliers stipulating one must be fitted

Thanks Harry, That's what we were going to initially do but didn't want to get someone out knowing that we needed to alter things! Thanks all for your help and input :)

Bathroom cabinet door demister not working

The top hinge in the picture looks like it has a plastic/rubber insulator, which the next hinge down doesn't have. If you only have one hinge with that insulator then I'd bet money that will be one pole of the circuit.

Smart meter sizes, and suppliers stipulating one must be fitted

335mm width, 285mm height and approx 80mm deep to board, 110~mm to wall. The board wasn't moved when the room was converted rather the cubby built round it, although the new CU was sited elsewhere from the old one that had re-wirable fuses. If the opening has to be widened, are there specific...

Smart meter sizes, and suppliers stipulating one must be fitted

Hi all, I've not seen a massive amount of smart meters, my brother has one fitted and it's a very chunky meter, standing (estimated) 4 inches from backboard to front of meter (almost like it was a standard meter that they've chucked another box on the front of). We had our incoming fuse and...

    Aqualisa eMotion shower fault

Hi Dan, ours has done it again! I'm hoping that I'll be off work when they do attend to see what they're actually replacing, although I have to admit that I reckon the actual flow control valve is at fault, perhaps a little out of spec and too stiff. We have very soft water here so scale isn't...

    Electrolux ER7826 fridge/freezer warm

Back at 9C this morning. Moving the dial round doesn't make it start back up. Presumably thermostat is faulty so found one for not much money to try... Fingers crossed!

    Electrolux ER7826 fridge/freezer warm

Hi all, Recently obtained an Electrolux ER7826 Fridge freezer, as I managed to break my last one defrosting it! Popped it into place two days ago and turned it on, leaving it on number 2 as it had no food in it. Came to it today and the fridge was at 11 degrees, freezer at -22, and compressor...

    Aqualisa eMotion shower fault

Hi, sorry for the delay updating. The engineer has actually now been out twice, as they repaired it, then it broke again in very quick succession. Allegedly, since I haven't been here when they've repaired it, there is a grooved sleeve? between front panel and water control valve that is quite...

    Hotpoint WMFUG742 "F06" and oddities...

A bump as an update to this saga. F-06 again, new door switch (from Hotpoint) has charred terminals and slightly the plug of the new harness (from a UK company, Hotpoint part). I cleaned it up again (plug cleaned up really well, door switch less so), and fault now gone again. What I have...

    Aqualisa eMotion shower fault

Hi all! Has anyone heard of, or had, a fault with this model of shower where the temperature dial just seems to break away from the underlying gubbins? At approx 9 months old the dial gave in, made a plastic snapping noise and then would not control the water flow/temp. Aqualisa did come out...

    Hotpoint WMFUG742 "F06" and oddities...

An update: Hotpoint (unsurprisingly) were less than helpful. Didn't want to know as it "wasn't on their list". The parts supplier didn't want to know either. We've had to replace both the harness and the door interlock as the connector was scorched to the point that the plastic (now carbon) was...

    Hotpoint WMFUG742 "F06" and oddities...

Evening peeps, The folks washing machine has once again gone on the blink. It was one of them that I believe now is subject to the recall, however, I replaced the switch in it prior to the machine being subject to it (as the door wouldn't lock shut). So, the pretty standard thing of the door...

    Expansion vessel needs repressurising?

Thanks for your kind words. The parts cannon comment was directed at the previous poster. I'm not competent so cannot do any servicing or other maintenance myself as the whole boiler is room sealed. Servicing was interrupted by covid as people in the household are classed as vulnerable and...

    Expansion vessel needs repressurising?

After being quoted north of £300 for a fix from local places (all suspecting the plate heat exchanger), we decided to try British Gas's offer of signing up to a year of home serve and having it fixed for free (so £300 for the year). A plate heat exchanger, a plastic manifold and PRV all...
