So bronzea5 did you manage to fix it with any of the tips above ?
Asking because I have the same joyful task on my list for the 'holidays' next week ! Somebody pushed the paper up ripping it where it joins the coving...
Lol yeah well thanks for all your help.
It was the 'aquadimmer' which is a cartridge which switches the flow between bath and shower. A bit of a funny device tbh, but quite easy to swap out. There are a couple of youtube videos which gives some help...the one from "East West Properties" is...
I got a call from home to say they couldn't turn off the shower....
Its a Grohe Rapido with the shower/bath diverter kit (Allure etc).
Is this likely to be the cartridge needing replacing ?
It doesn't look too tricky to do from the instructions, but I don't want to waste (quite a lot of) money...
The "HG" brand anti-mold stuff is very good, seems to be better than bleach or the supermarket stuff like Dettol anti mold. Its about 5 quid from the DIY sheds. Powerful stuff, so be careful with it.
If you do have to re-seal the bath, I recommend Dow Corning 785, its very hard-wearing and is...
I swapped out the filler valve on the toilet because the old one was hissing. The new one has a brass inlet. I had hand-tightened and given it a quarter turn on the first go, but it leaked straight away (quite a bit). So a bit more turning, bit more turning.... Then I turned the washer over...
I know this thread is old now, but to add my experience....
I had the same symptoms, couldn't get DHW without high flow rate, but I could turn it down afterwards to get the temperature up. And then on Sunday it must have 'gone' completely as nothing could persuade the old bastard Britony SE...
Thanks all for your responses. I suspect I will be out of luck with one of the 5 posts, things hardly ever go as smoothly as you'd like !
If anything exciting happens during this project, I'll post back.
My fence is leaning badly, and I think I need to dig up the posts and replace them, plus the panels which are generally past it. They are 3 inch wooden posts into the soil, presumably concreted in - they look in OK condition but again I would probably replace them. Postcreting them in for...
thanks for the reply
the loft is already converted with a room built inside, and just a small space between the internal 'room' walls which are plasterboard with some insulation in between the wooden supporting structure. There's a crawl space between the internal wall and the room.
So...
Looking to get my slate roof re-done. The attic has been converted into a room (with some insulation) but no felt nor insulation next to the roof itself.
So with a re-roof, the insulation is supposed to be uprated.
One quote plans to use Tri Iso 10, another says they will insulate between...
I think the one in the conservatory has a single red light (i.e. the middle LED). The lens becoming brittle wouldn't surprise me, I expect the ambient temperature can get pretty high.
The other one has nothing at all - although the microwave element was a bit warm when I opened it up. It...
I couldn't find any make or model number, here's a pic I took of the internals (mostly to make sure i'd recorded the wiring somewhere besides a bit of paper. I assume they all look very similar inside.
Hi
Two PIR+microwave detectors connected up to my Scantronic 9651 system have failed (1 about 9-12mnths ago, and another recently). They've lasted about 15 years based on the warranty label inside one of them, so that's pretty good. I can tell from the rooms they are in why they are...
