    Elson 600

Can anyone tell me if this model was gravity or mains fed DHW, and did they have an overflow? Thanks.

    Vaillant Boilers

So, according to the outside temp, the curve set according to the U value of the building, and the desired temp set on the 400, the flow goes out at X and when it comes back at Y the boiler shuts off. Got that bit master! How does it know to turn back on again- or is that the pump keep running...

    Vaillant Boilers

I understand the principles of weather compensation controlling flow temp but would expect to fit the unit (not the outdoor bit!) in the same position as a room stat so the boiler would switch off when satisfied. I don't see how it can comply with Part L if mounted on the boiler with no...

    Vaillant Boilers

'Under the building regs it is OK in the boiler because it still is an electrical interlock based upon temperature of the living space.' Sorry simond- can you run that by me again. If the stat is disabled when fitted in the facia of the boiler and all you have are TRV's everywhere, how...

    Vaillant Boilers

Did I miss something? How do you get to all trv's? Surely where the 400 is located shouldn't have one? Also, why would you want your stat mounted on the front of your boiler? Would you not still have an external one in that case?

    Power Flush Required??

Air must be the chief suspect. Have you tried running it on just CH and just HW? Have you tried back filling it?

    Power Flush Required??

Are the pump valves open? Have you bled the pump?

    Have I missed something?

Well I'll eat my hat and some humble pie too! Quote from the Hep Guide- 'Where boilers incorporate a high limit cut out thermostat, pump overrun device, and have connections outside the boiler casing 350mm from the heat source, direct connection can be made to Hep2O®. Typically these boilers...

    Have I missed something?

The pipe manufacturer's (certainly JG) say you mustn't unless the MI's specify that you can. I'll have a look at Baxi, but if you haven't seen the pic Tony try and find a copy. Bet you're not impressed.

    Have I missed something?

And I've just noticed the balofix on the way out to the hot taps!

    Have I missed something?

I understood that it had to be copper for the first meter. I'm asking if I've missed something/got it wrong having seen the 'example' in HPM.

    Have I missed something?

The feed goes to hep quite close and the return is almost on the tapping! Plus the h & c have been made onto in compression that 'appear' now to be rather hard to get to with a spanner. I realise why we don't win jobs on price!

    Have I missed something?

Its one of those picture by picture examples of an install- looks sh1t to me!

    Have I missed something?

Has the 'plastic ch pipe not within 1m of the boiler' changed? If 'no'- have a look at October's HPM p62.
