YOUR GPH (Gallons per hour ) can be worked out by dividing the heat input of your boiler by 140000
Square combustion chambers normally fire 70 - 90 degree angle whilst longer, narrower chambers 30- 60 degree.
Pump pressure at 100 psi as that is what the nozzles are tested at.

what do the tanks supply water to? maybe you have oversized storage and you are getting stagnation.
The amount of water stored should be for 1 days use.
The tank should be fitted with a lid, flyscreen and lagged.
The film on top of your tank sounds as though it may be caused by stagnation...
is it a thermostatic valve on the radiator, if so it may not be bi flow and could be on the wrong way round. Their should be an arrow on the valve stating direction of flow.
You can use the vacuum port to check whether the oil line is sound as this is the suction side of the pump. You would probably not get a reading, or a slow falling reading if the oil supply pipe had any leaks in it
Open flued boilers require ventilation.
You CANNOT connect a balanced flue to a chimney
you will need to replace the boiler for a balanced flue room sealed model and disregard the chimney.[/i]
