This is the current wiring set up. I guess if I chose to replace with either a hive or evohome (which seems a further step up in ‘smartness’) - it’s a relatively simple change for an electrician?

I currently have a Honeywell ST9400C programmer with a DT90E thermostat. The programmer is generally left to continuous with the thermostat used to control the heating being on/off.
I’m considering options to upgrade to a smart thermostat. Is there a smart thermostat that will work...
Understood thanks. Would i place it into engineers mode before removing? Or do i need that code to reset the tamper?
I will see if the installer will disclose if they changed the default installer code or not.

We have an i-on16 burglar alarm with scantronic xcel pir detectors (which I think are wireless, but could be wired). I want to re-paint one of our rooms and for a neater finish would like to remove (or at least loosen from the wall) the pir sensor to paint around.
