Screed just laid, UFH pressure increasing

OK, just checked and the gauge is now reading about 7 bar, so hopefully it'll continue to fall over the next couple of days until it's back where it started (4.5 bar). Panic over!

Screed just laid, UFH pressure increasing

Thanks for the reply. An interesting point about the air in the pressure gauge! The pressure seemed to be increasing by around 0.1 bar every 10-15 mins, and about an hour after posting it was close to 10 bar. The temperature inside the room had also increased over the evening from around 18.5°C...

Screed just laid, UFH pressure increasing

Haha I can peer through a window at the back of the house! Making some observations over the next couple of hours is a good idea.

Screed just laid, UFH pressure increasing

Hello all, I've just had builders lay 65mm sand and cement screed on my wet underfloor heating pipes. Following a successful overnight pressure test, the UFH remained pressurised at around 4.5 bar as the builders began to lay the screed. I've just looked at the gauge on the manifold and I can...

    Door lining in thick wall

Ah OK, thanks. So to cover up the rough blocks between the edge of the door lining and the inner wall of the shower room I guess I just dot and dab some plasterboard in place, butted up against the door lining?

    Door lining in thick wall

I want to fit a door lining into a doorway that's been cut through a double leaf block wall. Ideally I want to hang the door so that it's near enough flush with the entrance hall side of the wall, but opens into the shower room (see picture). Is either layout (A or B) do-able, and if so...

Timber frame external wall in garage conversion

Not sure what's under the remaining part of the slab! The surveyor didn't seem bothered about it, noting that "the front part of the slab was probably cast thicker to allow for cars rolling in and out of the garage". I did specifically ask him if I would need to remove the entire slab, or even...

Timber frame external wall in garage conversion

I'm in the early stages of a garage conversion and so far I've erected a timber frame wall in place of the old garage door, and I've begun excavating the existing floor to make way for a properly insulated floor. The timber frame wall was erected before I realised I needed to consider...
