Best Primer/Gloss for old Glossed Skirting/Doors - Starting again

Thanks everyone. Seems like a couple of issues. Wrong advice by B&Q plus some prep work not properly done (also because of the advice). Thanks again, and will see how we get on.

Best Primer/Gloss for old Glossed Skirting/Doors - Starting again

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Actually, it was a primer and undercoat recommended by B&Q. It says multisurface so assumed as we gave our situation that was what we needed to put on first. I'm guessing we don't need it? Satin was water based, but yes, sorry. I keep calling it glass, but it is...

Best Primer/Gloss for old Glossed Skirting/Doors - Starting again

Morning All. We are currently starting to restart glossing our house (only moved in around circa 1 year a go in a 12 year old house), and so we have pre-glossed skirting and doors (the doors however are very smooth like they have been pre-painted with spray for the builders). We have recently...

    Oven on but no heat

Now I think i've done this before, but I want to check i'm on the correct path. Our oven has suddenly stopped heating, but the light still comes on at the front of the oven. There is also a noise that, I presume, is the fan coming on. However, there is no heat. I'm sure this happened...

Router giving full signal but dropping connection

Apologies as I know there is another post on this but having sort of different problems. We are getting regular throughout the day, drops in connection ranging from a few minutes to well over an hour. Time of day and night can be any time too. The strange thing is that the when the...

No TV Signal - Ariel/Connection Advice

Ok. So have put my new connector on and with some jiggling again, the light is green and it all works again...until next time it is accidentally knocked. Now I could be barking up the wrong tree, but would I be correct in thinking that the issue is that the copper wire is not touching the...

No TV Signal - Ariel/Connection Advice

Ok. So apart from the spelling error whilst in a rush writing the original post, I have now replaced the plate with the original an put the original connector on as well. The White box has now turned red, and very short intermittent Orange whilsy bending the cable to the side. Back to the...

No TV Signal - Ariel/Connection Advice

Hi there. Looking for some advice for a newbie. When we moved into our house nine years ago, we had to install a TV Ariel. This was done and a further white box was added to our main TV which the Ariel went in, and the TV connection came out. The layout of the house is simple: one TV...

    Help - Vinyl Repairs!

Dont think the wife will go for that :( I've seen it done on youtube. Cut the new piece out bigger than the piece you are taking out. Align the pattern and stick down. Cut with stanley knife and then lift old piece and stick down new piece. I would presume it is best to go along a...

    Help - Vinyl Repairs!

Is it possible to get a clean cut/appearance doing it this way? Insurance would have been ok on contents (£100 excess), but as it is 'glued' it is deemed as building (so £100 + £200 excess!). £120 less than paying myself. Almost seems not worth it.

    Help - Vinyl Repairs!

Arrghhhhhh.... Another disaster to add to the recent expenses. Spotlight blub (which was on), fell on to our vinyl in the kitchen floor (only 6 months old), and melted a 5p size piece  It is a wood pattern, although the 'space' appearance between the printed planks is very thin...
