Connecting 40mm waste to toilet connector

Shouldn't the invert on your washing machine be higher than the inlet into the WC? Or have I missed something.

How to plumb a new sink in the garage

If your boiler is on the correct side of the garage wall you can probably tee into the cold inlet and hot oulet from there. Its a bit difficult to say without a photo. As its in your garage, I would fit a dry trap like a hepvo as you will be unable to protect the water seal from frost.

confused on which boiler to choose

@bengasman I have elected to do a whole module on heating controls which also covers weather compensation. I have seen the posts you have written and fundamentally all of the research I have read on the internet and what is taught is very different to the opinion that you have expressed on...

    Viessmann Vitodens 300 System

My latest screw up! I've been at a customer today who was reporting "metallic" noises when they were running their heating. I eventually isolated the problem to some debris in the pump, I reinstalled the circulating pump and the noise has gone, however I've got a slight weep from the gasket...

To Combi or not to Combi?

The question really should not be how many bathrooms, it should be how many baths/showers do you intend to run at once. If you have the money and the water pressure, I think an unvented cylinder is the way forward, you can't really get much better than that. Of the combi's I've seen, I...

    Worcester Boiler 24i Junior

I'm pretty sure the ATAG machines also have NRVs in them. Not sure about the current ones but the blue machines that were recently replaced had them immediately adjacent to the plate heat exchanger IIRC.

    Opella Torbeck Valves

I'd suggest Fluidmaster too. Although some other brands which I have found to be quite good are Wirquin (B and Q) and Geberit (Ebay). Out of all of them I would get the Geberit, although its expensive, its quiet and if you live in a seriously hardwater area like me, they seem to last a long time.

    Coram Showertrays

My preference is coram stuff. I find it easy to install because it is extremely lightweight. Whatever you get, I would suggest the tiling upstands are a must. After about 10 years I am of the belief that anything that relies totally on silicone to seal will leak. Claire

    Boiler Pressure Loss

System was not pressure tested before going to the sealed system. Its about 10 years old but 95% copper I shall sort this leak out today and see how it goes, I had never really thought about the pre-charge pressure, so I will check that too. I was going to leave the boiler pressured at...

    Boiler Pressure Loss

I've been out to a customer today with my mentor to have a look at a combi losing pressure problem. The original system was a open vent system and now its gone to a sealed system. The plumber that fitted the new boiler has looped the pipework in the airing cupboard negating the previous S...

Shower Pump attached to combi question

thanks for that reply corgigrouch. Although this has left me even more confused! Doesn't a pump simply increase the pressure of the water, hence a pressure washer is technically pumping and also isn't your neighbour "pumping" mains as well suggesting the aqualisa man was talking rubbish...

Shower Pump attached to combi question

Hi Everyone, I am currently training my local college and we get lots of companies coming in doing presentations about their products. This week we had a rep from a well known shower company come in. He said that it was against the law to "pump mains water" hence the reason why aqualisa...
