I wonder if it would be possible to reverse engineer the protocol to the server and have a 'server' running on your home network instead of on the EvoHome 'cloud', and get your base unit to talk to that instead. It's probably encrypted though, so not sure how possible it would be.

I am in a similar situation. Of the 'off the shelf' systems EvoHome is probably the one I am considering at the moment (although it will be a while off before I get around to sorting it out), as I don't think it needs the internet to be able to turn your heating on and off.

Hello A quick and probably silly question - if I want two BT phone extensions should they be wired as one cable going from the master socket - extension 1 - extension 2, or should each extension have a wire back to the master socket - or doesn't it matter? Cheers

Looks a bit like that. I think it came free with something else. Don't think i've ever used it for anything more than levering the cover off something!

If I need to lift the carpets for access and then put them back down, is there a way to do this without trashing them? They are hessian backed, with grippers around the edge of the room. I hope to avoid needing to take them up at all, but if I do I'd like to know what I'm in for!

One option for extending our pokey kitchen is to build an extension. It may be slightly preferable to go to the side, but at the rear of the house (where the kitchen is) there isn't a huge gap to the boundary. I'd say it's 2.5m. The house is at an angle to the boundary, so the available space...

Our house have an attic conversion. In the eaves of the front room attic bedroom there is some insulation boards (kingspan) on top of the rafters (to beef up the crappy old insulation). I would like to use this space to store useless crap...I mean seldom used items (eg. christmas decorations)...
