Hi,
We had accidently left a leaky Harpic Plus bottle on our granite worktop (not knowing that it was leaking). It stayed for there for some time ( probably a day or 2 ) untill we saw the leak. When we removed it I saw the excess Harpic liquid on the Granite & I did wipe it immediately but...
I am confused why the orange peel effect comes up ?
Is it because i am thinning the paint too much (over-rolling) or its too thick enough ?
I am using the standard harris 9 inch roller and apply it on the wall in a section of 2.3m * 0.25 m of area rolling it in a long W pattern from (top-bottom)
For newly skimmed plaster :
I have just finished painting my ceiling which was newly skimmed and realised that I should have used the Dulux Selant to save effort and lots of paint.
I tried using mist coat to act as a sealant as my first layer but it didn't work as expected. May be the % of...
I had applied 3 coats to a wall to get rid of rough surfaces or orange peel effect but inspite of all my efforts there are still small sections where I can see the rough surfaces or orange peel effect.
Is there anyway I can rectify this like sanding and repainting only those sections down...
I have radiators which were painted previously, I have scrubbed them lightly with steel wool.
Do I need to apply a Metal Primer on it ?
I have Dulux Once Gloss which I intend to use over the radiators . This paint doesn't require the use of undercoat ( as mentioned on the can).
The Dulux Sealer can mentions that the Sealer needs to be applied on Bare PLater or Plasterboards or powdery surfaces !!! so looks like I have to try the option 1
I have a set of timber batons that need to be painted with 2 diffrent colours some of them painted white and the other being a shade of brown.
I am unsure what TYPE of paint I should be using for the wood. I have applied 2 coats of Dulux Primer + undercoat on them and kept them ready for...
I have applied the coats on consecutive days over the weekend which was particularly warm with the last coat yesterday I will wait for one more day ...
I have been suggested by someone that I should only paint the greyish-blue patches with undiluted paint untill they don't look discoloured...
Hi ,
We had our artex ceiling skimmed over and made flat.
I first applied a mist cost on it ( Dulux white paint + 15% water) then applied 2 more coats on it (not watered down !!!!)
Inspite of this I see greyyish patches ( plaster ) still visible while in portions of the ceiling at other...
Thank U very much John for the detailed advice.
For already painted radiators or wooden surfaces like doors, Is it really necessary to have a undercoat at all ? or is it just sufficient to sand it down and apply 1 or 2 final coats of metal gloss paint?
Hi,
I had a few questions regarding painting wooden surfaces ( door/skirtings) some of them unpainted/new and some already painted.
I have had a look in the DIY stores and one gets tins from Dulux and the DIY own brands with a combined Primer + Undercoat mixture all in one.
My Questions are...
My loft currently has insulating material between the joists; at some places close to the eaves it is almost 250 mm at other places along the same joists it is 100 mm.
I want to top up the loft insulation so that it is atleast 250 mm throughout the loft.
Should I straightaway lay the Knaufp...
