    Mould remedy?

After checking the other parts fully, some are mouldy however those like the cooker tower aren’t but this has an open back, I think as there is no air movement in the service gap of the units that are against the wall so I think sorting the ventilation is the ultimate solution

    Mould remedy?

Hi I have a standard Victorian property where the extension has become the kitchen and has a solid wall no cavity. The cupboards developed mould as there is no insulation or heat in that area, and now need change. My thoughts were to vapour barrier the walls, insulate the units and run some pipe...

    Fake grass over clay soil?

Hi I am thinking of laying fake grass over a grassed area which has very heavy clay soil. Can anybody suggest how to deal with rainwater as it could quickly turn into a pond? I was thinking of laying a base of hardcore but wouldn’t be sure on depth or if that would work?

    Oak or pine

Hello I am replacing some stair spindles which will eventually be painted white - being no expert, is there a benefit to spending extra on oak that will be painted?

    Help with soil pipes

Hi I Have a soil stack and I would like to move it 2m to the right, however connecting underground will be a nightmare - is it possible to have a stack 2m to the right that run into the original assuming I am using the correct falls and connections? Would I be breaking regs?

    Where to buy truss?

Its a detached garage 3m x 5m brick wall from 1930s - fairly standard with a dual-pitched roof, and as purchased trusses are proving costly I agree Woody, its looking like rafter, ridge collar for support, undecided on the final finish but it will be some form of sheet (corotile or similar) so...

    Where to buy truss?

No you don't, but as IanH put for a further £225 on top of the material saves a ton of work and you have something substantial that will last probably my lifetime. Rather do a job once! But the suppliers are not being that generous at the moment :( still working on it

    Where to buy truss?

Thanks for the replies I only found one of those previously. I was looking to save time to be honest, but as woody says prefabricated costs will break the budget on a garage, I think I will have to concede and sacrifice the time to making my own.

    Where to buy truss?

Hi, I have a flat roof garage 5x3m garage where the roof is rotten - I am thinking of a very shallow pitch roof with low weight tiles or similar - other posts say its cheaper to buy ready made truss rather than make them, but all suppliers seem geared to houses. Any ideas where to search before...

What is correct wood and size for flat roof

I have a free standing standard single brick garage with a flat roof that has failed badly - it has had a chipboard roof which is now mainly fell through due to leaks and years of rotting. Question is do I use Plywood or OSB - what would be the desired thickness? prior to new rubber roof...
