Toilet roll, no wet wipes and the adjoining drain didn't seem to back in to ours, so just must have built up over time once the initial part blockage had started. It took some work to it all so must have been months. Drain rods and lots of hot water!

Well, I found a covered over man hole and lets just say it was brimming! Somehow it seems that tissue built up at the bottom where it goes into the neighbours drain. Took some hard (and smelly) work to sort it but managed to clear it all away and the toilet seems to be working as expected now...

It's a Polyvent cap which does appear to have a valve that should lift up but when monitoring it whilst flushing, it doesn't seem to move or do anything.

It's ground floor and goes straight outside, so doesn't go via the loft.

Thanks Jonathan, I have spoke to Ideal and they said I would need a smart bracket to work with the OpenTherm which although is an added cost, I will probably do! However, as the OpenTherm seems more involved and I ned a boiler engineer for this, I am now leaning towards the Nest 3rd gen...

Photo of current install for clarity. I've just been reading up on the Halo stat and it seems like a good possibility. However would it be able to adjust the actual heating temperature at the boiler, given I have physical dials on the boiler?

Thanks RandomGrinch, would it be the same terminals if I were to use non OT such as Hive? The boiler is due a service soon, so I may as well buy the stat and get the engineer to fit it at the same time?
