Hi Conny, thanks for your reply. The instant you switch it on it is boiling hot, do you know if there is an adjuster inside ?

    Mira element shower scalding hot

Just moved into a new house and replaced the old boiler with a new Ideal boiler. This has made the mira element shower run scalding hot. Is there anything I can do or do I need a new shower now?

    Draining a condensate boiler

Re-drained and refilled same problem. Deduced it must be the boiler, so took cover off. Black box with 3 lights, 1 solid red (Lockout) and 2 (Boiler & mains) flashing green. So I'm guessing its a PCB problem. If I get another one would it be something I could do myself to keep costs down?

    Draining a condensate boiler

Drained the system ok, replaced the radiator, refilled the system and bled all the valves. Now the boiler itself wont start. Usually there is a slight trickle of water sound before it bursts into life, but when heat/water is pressed it just clicks and nothing happens. What have I missed or done...

    Draining a condensate boiler

I have to replace the ladder radiator in the bathroom. The pipework will need to be slightly altered as the new one is a fraction bigger. How do I drain a condensate boiler?

Stop leaves gathering in a recessed wrought iron gate

The wrought iron gate at the front of my house is set back on the concrete posts and whenever its a bit windy we get a huge pile of leaves build up at the gate. The gate is approximately 4" back from the edge of the wall. Anyone got any simple ideas that may help the leaves carry on their way...

    Bad Smell

Thanks for the reply I will give that a try. It has a header tank in the loft and as I have very limited plumbing skills, could you recommend one which is VERY easy to use, ie pour it in and walk away, job-done style?

    Bad Smell

Unfortunately not. I stinks all the time. Interestingly enough, when I drained some water out via the bleed valve and it smelt ok.

    Bad Smell

One of my bedroom radiators is giving out a terrible stagnant water smell. Anybody know how what the problem is or even better how to cure it ?
