    Waste pipe size

Will go with your suggestions for Multifit/Surefit. Will replace with solvent weld once the job is finished. Thanks.

    Waste pipe size

Had a new bathroom external waste pipe fitted a couple of years ago which uses welded fittings. This runs across an area of wall rendering that needs to be replaced. I was going to cut the pipe and temporarily fit one or two push fit connections so that I can easily remove and replace the pipe...

    Consumer unit for EV

Thanks. I will mention this to the installer. Come the day, I will see what my local companies charge for EV charging installation. I am with Octopus but they are not my favourite people at the moment. No award winning customer service for me, but that's another story.

    Consumer unit for EV

I am about to get some quotes for replacing my ancient consumer unit. The chances are I will be considering an EV in the future but will not be getting a charging point fitted until then. Will this have any bearing on the type of consumer unit I have fitted? I imagine this is something I will...

    Stained grout

Thanks for that. It looks like what I was looking for. I have seen others but the quantity wasn't great. Reviewers said that many were tester sized and would not treat a complete wall, floor etc. I will try the syringe method as you recommend.

    Stained grout

Actually trying to sell the house and as the tiles go under everything, doing the complete floor would be a a longish job. I just don't have the time to do it properly. Sanding the grout actually brings it up very well but I need to seal it straight after. Finding a clear sealant also seams...

    Grout paint

Can anyone recommend an effective grout paint/reviver for floor tiles. Current grout was mid grey but now very stained so want to colour the grout black as much of the kitchen is now black.

    Grout sealer

It's quite a rough grout and seems to trap grease and oil etc which just makes those areas look dark. I think I have found something though. Thanks for the reply.

    Grout sealer

Just had a go at getting the light grey grout between my kitchen floor tiles clean again. I tried lightly sanding a section of the grout and it has come up a treat. However, before I consider doing the whole kitchen, I want to seal the grout afterwards. Any recommendations for a good brush on...

    Loss of circuit

He isn't too keen on touching anything (not his thing!). We are visiting next week so I will have a look then. Might order a new breaker just in case.

    Loss of circuit

The left hand breaker was actually on the good circuit, it was the right hand breaker circuit which had the problems I believe. Anyway, as you have advised, I will suggest he looks at seating the LH breaker correctly and resetting it. i will also suggest a complete reset of the supplies as you...

    Loss of circuit

Seems a strange one this but someone might have an explanation. Got a text from Son in Law this morning saying he had lost all of the sockets on a downstairs circuit. He said the breaker for the circuit was still showing ON. He lives 200 miles away so no way I can pop round to have a look so I...

    Roller blind bottom rail

Decided to take a few inches off the bottom of a bathroom roller blind due to some mould marks on the blind. Done this before for roller blinds but have never seen the type of bottom rail fitted to this one (see photo). After the struggle I had getting the rail off and cleaning the glue off, it...

    Tradesmen not interested

None of these were contacted due to a personal recommendation, they all advertised either online or in the free local business guide. We are hoping to move to a different area in the next 12 months so we may well just give it our own annual hack and leave it for the next owner to sort out. It...

    Tradesmen not interested

I have had a few instances recently where it seems that tradesmen are not interested in small jobs. I tried to get someone to re-turf a smallish lawn (25sqm). Had three companies come and look but none got back to me. Even when I chased them up. Now I am trying to get a tree tidied up, not a...
