    Toilet seat incorrectly fitted?

I thought it was because I had a fat arse, so that's good to know.

    Toilet seat incorrectly fitted?

Correct. We've got what you'd class as an old fashioned toilet seat on a toilet under the stairs and it's as solid as a rock. These 2 with the modern fittings - crap!

    Toilet seat incorrectly fitted?

We moved into a new house a couple of years ago and had to gut quite a lot of the rooms, including 2 WC's. We put ideal standard tempo toilets in both and had a plumber fit them. Both have had an ongoing issue with the toilet seat coming loose every few weeks. I've just been tightening them up...

What type of prefab is this?

You are correct. The EA was very open about this and they would only do viewings for cash buyers on the basis that no lender will touch them. I imagine they'd take quite a bit of insuring as well.

Dulux easycare emulsion over Zinsser 123?

Depending on how bad the stain is you might be best using Cover Stain (the yellow tinned stuff) rather than 123. Both would cover the stain in the end but Cover Stain should take fewer coats. If the rest of the ceiling is in decent nick I would be tempted to just paint the stain and it should...

What type of prefab is this?

Thanks for providing that info, it's just what I was after. The property I viewed was in Lancs so I'd like to bet they are indeed Tarran houses. From what I've been reading each area seemed to have their own unique type of post war prefab build. It's a shame the semi next door isn't up for...

What type of prefab is this?

I've just been to view a property that is of a non-standard construction. It was on a street of around 60 prefab houses that were all built after the war to try and solve the housing crisis. A lot of the houses (including the one I had viewed) had been re-rendered to hide the underlying...

    Peeling Paint and Dodgy Ceiling

There's a bedroom above it but no rads on the wall. I've had a couple of boards up just to check for pipes but nothing there other than an odd electrical cable but no signs of any damage to it.

    Peeling Paint and Dodgy Ceiling

Thanks for the replies. To answer your Q's: The paint started to peel on the first coat so it was the old original paint that was peeling off rather than my first coat. I've fixed that issue by going over the problem areas with a layer of Gardz and touch wood it now seems sound. The house was...

    Peeling Paint and Dodgy Ceiling

Hi All, Long time lurker and first time poster here! I've taken on a house renovation and have made it to the home straight; the painting....or so I thought. I've run into a problem with two rooms on one side of the house only (house is an L shape). After giving the existing paint a light sand...
