Mono lever mixer kitchen tap car removal - cant remove the collar securing the cartridge

I've found two places selling a 'Galatron 47mm Dual Ceramic Disk Cartridge' at ~£40!! Ouch! Plumped for a supplier selling one at £18, far more reasonable! Will do Rob,thanks o_O

Mono lever mixer kitchen tap car removal - cant remove the collar securing the cartridge

Hook spanner did the trick, just! Whole tap was twisting around... Seems to be completely different to all others, and 47mm diameter. Managed to track a replacement, ordered and waiting delivery. Thanks all!

Mono lever mixer kitchen tap car removal - cant remove the collar securing the cartridge

I used a strap wrench to remove the top off the collar, thought the thread would rip the rubber... Will give it a try...!!

Mono lever mixer kitchen tap car removal - cant remove the collar securing the cartridge

Thanks all, i misquoted by saying a standard cartridge. I've seem varying sizes and designs, but it looks as though my cart is part of the collar too. Didn't think of tapping with a screw driver/hammer for fear of jamming the thread somehow, but will keep it in mind!

Thank you! Shall order one.! Would it suggest it's not a standard ceramic cartridge valve? Cheers, H

Mono lever mixer kitchen tap car removal - cant remove the collar securing the cartridge

Hi All, I cant work out how to remove the collar securing the cartridge, from the tap. From all the videos on line, it's different! I've searched through postings but to no avail. I've tried unscrewing with an adjustable wrench (like http://sendfile.globeunion.com:8080/257_004.jpg)...

Nest 3rd gen to replace existing wireless thermo on Baxi 105e

Adding a 16 C setting at 6am and moving the 21 C setting to 6:15am should also achieve the same, without having to alter the per heat, which you can then benefit from during the day/eve.

Danfoss CP715 programmer To Nest 3rd Gen Thermostat Issues

Hi Stem, I checked how i'd configure it, and its set as "Equipment: Heat source Gas, Heat type Radiator." I was about to work through your wiring, and I worked out the 3 port valve is a V4073A (not F-5) so I also had that diagram ready, then contacted the Nest support via chat. Very helpful...

Danfoss CP715 programmer To Nest 3rd Gen Thermostat Issues

Thanks Stem, I'll connect the Nest/Heat Link back up over the weekend and troubleshoot a bit more, and will check the valve/cylinder stat wiring. One thought, when goig through the Nest thermostat setup, I didn't see a Y-Plan setting, so configured it as 'other', or what ever the choice was...

Danfoss CP715 programmer To Nest 3rd Gen Thermostat Issues

Hi Stem, Thanks for the replies. 1. The earth cable - yes, i need to get some brown sheathing, the earth is courtesy of the last owners/installer, who didn't do a good job 2. Agree, I connected it all up temporarily, as, I want to use the 'holes', well, there seen to be 'outlined' parts of the...

Danfoss CP715 programmer To Nest 3rd Gen Thermostat Issues

Hi, I assume he installation issues you're referring to are the use of an earth colored wire for one of the controls? I've not change anything else, I've not opened up the control box where the pump/valve/water tank thermostat connect into, that's probably messy, and I'll need more time to get...

Danfoss CP715 programmer To Nest 3rd Gen Thermostat Issues

Hello, I rarely post questions, as answers to other posts have always answered my question. I'm attempting to replace a Danfoss CP715 programmer with a Nest 3rd Gen. From: Danfoss CP715 Potterton Neatheat Profile Boiler Y Plan config (Honeywell F-5 3 port valve) gravity fed To: Nest 3rd...

How much movement in Rad Pipes for Towel Rail?

Thanks cantaloup63. Good advice on checking the BTU output, in the rush to replace the rad before the weather changes to chilly nights I forgot to check the output. Luckily it’s a small bathroom so a wide towel rail will have enough BTUs. Annoyingly the rad is on the hot water circuit.

How much movement in Rad Pipes for Towel Rail?

Thanks Nige F. I’ve just re-measured and the length is 120 to 130mm. The towel rad pipe centres are at the bottom of the rad, pointing to the floor, so I’ll have to replace the current angle valves with straight valves, so I can’t make up any rad length… I’m assuming the pipes will...

How much movement in Rad Pipes for Towel Rail?

Hi, I need to replace the bathroom rad after all manner of problems with the bleed valve. The current pipe centres are 1000mm apart and the two closest Towel Rails I can find have pipe centres of 970mm, a difference of 30mm. The bathroom floor is tiled so I can’t lift the floor to adjust the...
