Small puncture hole in shower tray

The flat I am about to rent out was perfect except I had to renew a clamp on the shower. All done by a friend but when I went into property today there was a small puncture hole in the shower tray. Some sharp object must have been dropped. I panic at the thought of water seeping through to the...

    Stainless steel splashback

I want to put a stainless steel splash back behind a cooker in a flat I rent out. The wallpaper is vinyl. I was going to use gorilla glue but apparently it requires some moisture for good adhesion. Can anyone recommend an adhesive should I use please? Many thanks.O

    Mould on internal wall

Thank you. Yes there is an effective bathroom extractor and kitchen extractor. I provided a tumble drier but it looked as if it hadn't been used. I think you are correct that the moisture has condensed at the coldest spot and this is the area I need to address.

    Mould on internal wall

I most certainly did not dismiss my tenant's complaint out of hand. I was hoping for some constructive help and not a thinly veiled suggestion that I am not a conscientious landlord.

    Mould on internal wall

I rent out a small studio flat and my tenant constantly complained about being cold despite the fact there was plenty heating available (albeit electric). He has just moved out and I found a lot of black mould on the wallpaper in the vestibule at the the front door. I believe the tenant probably...

    Radiator not heating fully

Our living room radiator is never very hot and is cooler at the bottom. A CH guy said a chemical flush would sort it. However, I used the key which bleeds the radiator and completely clear water came out. Then I closed off all the other radiators in the house which resulted in the living room...

Slider control on Paragon living flame fire

My Paragon living flame fire was serviced 6 months ago. At that time the slider control was stuck in the off position and could not be pushed down in order to ignite the fire. This was repaired. A few weeks ago this happened again but I discovered that if I waited 5 minutes and tried again it...

    Oregon pine door facing problem

Thank you very much misterhelpful. After I saw what it looked like after the one coat I stripped it all off. I made sure every last bit had been removed and then I decided to varnish it. This brought out the colour more than I thought it would and it looks pretty good, thank goodness. I will be...

    Oregon pine door facing problem

The door facing on the vestibule door of my 1935 bungalow required some attention. I stripped it down to the bare wood and then applied a wood stain to bring it up to the right colour to match in with everything else. The result was a disaster as it was all blotchy and looked worse than it was...
