    Outdoor switch for decking lights

Its a small transformer (rated for outdoor use) with about 5m flex and a standard 3 pin plug (not molded, removable) so I figured its no different being connected to an FCU?

    Outdoor switch for decking lights

Hi, I have a set of low voltage IP66 decking lights being powered from supply taken from a shed. At present, the lights just plug into a mains socket in the shed and are switched on/off there. I would like to make this more permanent by connecting the lights directly to the CU in the shed...

Heatslave 15/19 - Keeps kicking in

Thanks for your reponses to this. But... does anyone else have any ideas? I am going to get the water board back out to remove the meter, or fix the problem - their choice - but they can't come out for 3 weeks!

Heatslave 15/19 - Keeps kicking in

No dripping taps. Leak? Oh great! What could the gurgling sound be then? It's every time - the boiler never kicks in [unless you switch the tap on or course] without the gurgle sound [and you get no gurgle if you switch the taps on] It was fine before this idiot came! I have just...

Heatslave 15/19 - Keeps kicking in

Hi All, We have a heatslave 15/19 which was fine until a couple of days ago. A guy came round from the waterboard to fit us a water meter [uck] and since then, every 10 minutes or so, the boiler keeps kicking in. The central heating is currently switched off [pressure is about 2bar if...

    Wiring in some "fairy lights"

Thanks for the replies. I had a look in our local B&Q & Homebase for a plugin ceiling rose, but couldn't find one, so I guess I'll have to get one off the net. The lights are currently connected via a 3amp fuse in the plug. I assume the plug in ceiling rose isn't fused...

    It's a 30 amp fuse, with 2.5mm2 Twin & Earth cable, so I assume its a ring

Extending a spur with a junction box

Hi, I am trying to move a socket from one side of a room to the other. Looking at the socket, it seems to be coming from a spur (only one cable going into it). My original plan was to trace the cable back to its source, rip it out, and replace it with a longer one. However the original...

Loft aerial booster off of lighting circut

Thanks for all the replies, Is there any reason it has to be the last light on the circut?

Loft aerial booster off of lighting circut

No, but a lot easier to fit for me due to the layout of the house. I'm not really worried about it being convenent to be honest, Its no less convenent than it being a convential plug, and the fuse in the plug blowing and having to get up there.
