    Skirting/Pipes

Hi JobAndKnock, Are you saying fix a batten to wall above the pipes, and fix the bullnose piece to that ? then a piece at front high enough to reach that, then fix skirting onto the front piece ? so skirting will be an inch or whatever below the top, have i got that right ? problem is it's...

    Skirting/Pipes

Not sure what to do here, pipes run down corner of room which i've boxed in at 45 degree, angle then off to radiator on left, but now i'm putting skirting on i'm in a hole. plan was for skirting to go behind pipes, but as you can see cutting a piece out the skirting looks rubbish, also top of...

    Reed/fluted Architrave

Thanks for the advice chaps :) @noseall yeah my living room will be a cross between a Harvester and a 70's chinese restaraunt with the cladding lol.

    Reed/fluted Architrave

Ok, fairly easy question for those who know,i've seen photos of these types of architrave used with corner blocks. Question is can you buy architrave with this design ? or do you have to build them so to speak by gluing on mouldings ? The only mouldings i've seen are about 6mm thick (like me...

    Cupped Cladding

@Harbourwoodwork, You mentioned using pva,it says not to use adhesives for some reason :? but what would happen if i glue top and bottom, and nail. Would this prevent any movement at all ? or will they split if they try to move ?.

    Cupped Cladding

Thanks for the tips everybody,i think i will fix straight away. i'm using panel pins at moment, 2 top and bottom because that will be covered by dado and skirting, and one through tongue in middle, but thats tending to split a bit so might try some veneer pins or the clips. As for timber...

    Cupped Cladding

Thanks for the tips everybody, i phoned the store and they thought it was bizarre that so many had cupped but they have agreed to replace them. I'll make sure they're perfect before purchase as i did with these, but the question is how do i prevent this happening again ? should i fix...

    Cupped Cladding

No, it's listed as interior cladding, this is the stuff http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/121324 I'd take it back but i bought it well before Christmas and also it's been cut down, (before it cupped)can't realy walk in with 45 metre pieces lol........can i ???

    Cupped Cladding

It's about 5mm out, doesn't sound a lot but they won't pull into place without cracking down the middle. Managed to get a couple on that weren't quite so bad but you can still feel the cup in the middle. I've got 45 1metre lengths like this, they were 3mtrs but i cut them down to size when i...

    Cupped Cladding

They're for indoors Deluks, instructions advised to leave for a minimum of 72 hours before fixing, ok i've left them a lot longer than that, about 2 weeks lol, but i'm wondering if i should have fixed them straight away because they were ok when i bought them. room is just normal temperature...

    Cupped Cladding

Left boards stacked flat over Christmas and half of them are now cupped. I've restacked them in a criss cross fashion bow side up hoping they'll straighten themselves out, will this work or are they unuseable ?.

    Cladding at Door Architrave

Thank's for that big-all, i'll give it a go. one last thing if you could advise, was thinking of fixing a dado rail along top, i assume this nails on to top batten on face of cladding, so does this mean i need a thin strip to cover the top of the batten behind dado ?

    Cladding at Door Architrave

Thank's for the replies, like the block idea :D ,i have already removed architrave because it was painted and i wanted new to stain so it matches cladding.......when it's on the wall. I think i know what you mean big all, seen some in diy places, square with a circle design on, but they're...
