Hi everyone,
Thank you for all the advice and comments.
I spent the majority of yesterday cleaning about metal backboxes and inspecting and resecuring all the wires in each socket. I always added an earth cable to bond my water supply as the existing cable had been damaged. I then went out a...
Hi JBR,
Thanks. I will try a few methods and if no luck then I will get a plasterer. But as you said, If the plaster dries then shocks should disappear.
Hi JohnD,
I’ll try and have a go doing that. I’ll report back what I find. As you can see the plaster is already starting to dry already.
Here’s the photo of the fuse box…
Having kitchen refurbished. Got to the stage where old kitchen cupboards ripped out and had to replace some plasterboard sheets as the olds tiles had ripped them to pieces. All was good up to today when the kitchen was plastered and now I seem to get a small electric shock when touching any of...
yes only one socket on this particular wall in the kitchen but there is more than one socket on the ring main I’m assuming. Yes it’s got a RCCB. See photo of fuse board. Kitchen comes under ground floor sockets.
I definitely want to extend the ring, but my question is can I extend the ring...
Stripped out my kitchen and looking to extend the ring main as the kitchen has next to no sockets to use.
I have one existing socket on this wall and I’m looking to extend the ring to add two single sockets and two double sockets. See photo attached. The circuit is 32amp.
Just want some...
I’ll see how it gets on with the white wire being connected to the correct terminal. If still no luck then I’ll move my attention to the 3 port valve. I’ve watched some videos on YouTube and it seems relatively straight forward to replace.
Thanks everyone for the advice and info, I’ll give...
With the hot water only on the lever is it’s rest position and is solid as if a spring was keeping it there. I turn the central heating on and it remains in the rest position and is loose to move. But I can feel hot water going through and down the radiator pipe. The lever remains the same with...
reading up on this so probably im wrong… but The 3 port valve has 3 positions. HW, CH or both at the same time. Is there a possibility the valve is engaging for the first two separately but is sticking when I call for both HW and CH at the same time?
It’s probably not that helpful as the junction box is a complete mess! The dark grey cable goes directly to the hive receiver. The white cable behind it goes to the boiler. The bottom white wire looks to go to the pump. And the middle white cable goes to the hot water tank thermostat. Not sure...
Hi, just moved into a new house. I have a standard boiler British Gas 330+ with a hot water cylinder. There is a cold water tank in the loft too. The house has a hive thermostat installed. My hot water and heating systems are functioning. However, my central heating only seems to continuously...
