I going to decorate my landing but I have cables running along one of the door frames. I was told I could scrape a hole and sink the cables into the wall/ door frame and wall paper over the top. Is this correct and if so any advice how to or not do this.

I bought something simular out of Homebase with a bar and shelves. I ran the pole from the corner of my ceiling to my bath ledge. That was more than 6 months ago and have never had a problem.
B & Q whom I bought the screen from don't seem to have much of a clue and have never heard of this problem!
However, if a blue film starts to appear I'll let you know
