Hi,
I have read through this fantastic collaborative thread and my washing machine has exactly the same symptoms, but the circuits seem completely different, so I am starting a new thread. https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/miele-w828.130792/
My friend changed the dampers for me as the washing...
SUCCESS!!
@AndyPRK
ESP have assured me that this battery will replace the GP one. It holds 330mAh, rather than 320, and may be a slightly different size (this is one that costs more to post than buy!).
They say they will fit the tails if it has a connector on the end & they have the connector...
Fantastic John, thank you. Now I need to find a battery that meets those parameters, I presume?
Could you see the battery in the thumbnail a few posts back? It is only one cell (1/3" ish thick).
Does anyone know how to find out what properties the battery needs to have? eg I imagine it must be able to function in a hot space, as the switch is in my airing cupboard. But I don't know what the mAh or voltage should be.
There's a number of button batteries that are NiMH, and 1.2V (If mine...
My understanding is that that is at the beginning of it's life. A battery measuring 0.1V is dead, as in non-revivable. (and I have had it powered for months, just in case!)
However, this does emphasise that the unit won't work without a working battery.
I am sure I don't need the replacement...
Good point - I think I did last time - it doesn't look as though it is meant to be replaced. And it's worth me trying them. Thanks
@AndyPRK - did you try Horstmann?
There is a continuation of this thread here:

I didn't find this thread in my search (no idea why not!), so started another one on exactly the same topic.
GP don't do it any more.
Success -...
Thanks for further input & info, John.
yes it looks similar or the same (see green in photo - are you able to see it or would a better photo be better?), although I haven't measured it yet. Many button batteries seem to look like this!
Yes, this is why I have started looking at multi packs -...
I am going to update this message, as I get results in, so no one need repeat any research unnecessarily:
GP - only do consumer batteries now, not industry ones. She said this one looks like an industrial one, and so far cannot verify what BVH stands for.
RS - don't stock it
CPC - no longer...
This is the nearest I have got so far (apart from finding some potentials in Russia and US), hopefully it's the correct one!

thanks, will try.
The motor? behind the timer? Ah, ok, thank you. How can I check out the motor?
The battery is definitely dead, and apparantly they don't work when they have dead batteries, so could be both.
