How to turn off upstairs cold water to bath

Sincere apologies for not having acknowledged these helpful replies sooner. What happened was I thought I'd used my main email address as the contact for this forum whereas I'd used the 'other' one and didn't spot the reply alert when it arrived (have had a lot of other stuff going on)...

How to turn off upstairs cold water to bath

I realise this is a pretty dumb question, but how do I turn off the cold water supply to the bath (upstairs bathroom)? As far as I can see the tank in the loft feeds the hot water, the shower pump, and also cold water to the upstairs basin and bath in the bathroom and the downstairs cloakroom...

Shower head riser rail, removal SOLVED

Have now sorted this and I thought I would post an update on the remote chance that anyone has the same problem (I saw one or two similar threads on removing other riser rails). The two washer-like rings next to the wall (shrouds), one on each bracket, were what needed to be moved. At first...

Shower head riser rail, removal SOLVED

Thanks. I can't get any rotating movement on the bar itself so if it is seized up it's seized up good and proper. As for the head holder yes thanks i found a decent looking one designed for 25mm bars, which this seems to be, so if I could only get the rail off it should be straightforward...

Shower head riser rail, removal SOLVED

Hi This morning I tried to adjust the head holder on the shower and it snapped. So I need to temporarily remove the riser rail so I can fit a new head holder on to the bar. However, I cannot see how to remove the rail. There are large fittings that look like washers next to the wall but...

Thanks for getting back so quick - very helpful, I'll do that.

How do you go from newly cleared, overgrown garden, to lawn and vegetable garden? (newbie)

Sorry another newbie here. And apologies first of all for piggy-backing and bumping someone else's thread. I have a small front lawn that I have just dug over. The grass was very patchy and there were lots of weeds and a couple of unwanted shrubs to dig out. The intention is to just...

    Battery query

Sorry for delay in getting back. Thanks for these replies. Looks like the only safe option is to buy another new battery.

    Battery query

Hi folks I’ve recently returned from two weeks holiday and the alarm control panel didn’t bleep on re-entry and the control panel window was blank – all dead. This was because at some point while we were away the the 6 amp MCB in the consumer unit for ‘upstairs lighting’ – the part of the...

Shutting off water supply to toilet

This is now sorted, courtesy of the advice above, using the tap under the ktichen units, I knew there was one there but thought it would only affect cold water downstairs (+ appliances etc) so now I know for the future. Thanks again to all who posted.

Shutting off water supply to toilet

No, I assumed they had to be supplied from the tank. (I'm a proper noob at this). I'm not sure where the mains itself is turned off but now I know it's not necessarily the tank I will investigate but it will have to be tomorrow. Thanks for this.

Shutting off water supply to toilet

Hello I'm a new poster (with, I think, an entry level question). I'm trying to shut off the water going into the upstairs toilet cistern so that I can replace a faulty inlet valve in it. This is proving difficult. On my loft tank there are 2 pipes emerging at the bottom, both with taps...
