When I shine a touch into it there is a strong metal backing just behind the vent slits with lots of tiny little wholes. I've tried to capture this in the photo. Most of the little wholes were covered with black dust so I brushed this out of the way which is why it looks so dirty!
There's no...
Thanks for all the suggestions especially the stuff about music and halloween . Luckily the landlord is reasonably relaxed about me doing minor stuff so if removing the vent is the best thing to do I can probably get away with it. He's actually a family friend so we don't have a tenancy...
Thanks for the advice. Assuming that I do want to block it up to reduce the noise what do people think would be the most simple and effective method/materials to use? I know this is possibly a simple task (e.g. expandable foam or filling with newspaper) but I just don't know what method is most...
Excellent - I did wonder why when I put my ear to it I could hear 'everything' from next door. Incidently there is also another identical one of these in the sitting room of our flat which is across from the bedroom but shares the same 'party wall' as the bedroom (if that makes sense).
I'm...
Some new neighbours moved in to the flat next door and they’re much louder than the previous occupant. I think our bedrooms are connected and at night if they raise their voices I can hear them. I'd rather not know about their once a week schedule  or their arguments so I'm thinking about...
I have checked the filters and they are not split - the machine is only 1 week old.
Im a bit confused as to whether this is normal or should the microfilters be catching larger bits of food?
Thanks
After only a week of use my Bosch classix stopped draining. I admit that I don't get every tiny bit of food off the plates before putting them through (sometimes leave a few grains of rice etc). However, I was quite happy to clean the microfilters ever now and again to get rid of the bits...
Are you sure about it coming with the dishwasher? The waste pipe was aready connected and Im pretty sure there wasn't anything else.
That said - is there any where I can buy one of these connectors?
Last week I paid a plumber £100+ to install my new bocsh Classixx and do a few other jobs .
Yesterday, it stopped draining and after spending 2hrs messing around I worked out that what he had done is install a really long and unneccessary extension pipe. Not sure why he did this...
Thanks Chri5 - There is a connecting wall between the kitchen and the wall the desk is again.
Any idea how I find out what the wall is made out of? It's quite thick so would need a long drill (not sure where I'd get that from).
Alternatively, are there any extension cables which are made...
There's no cleaner but apparently the plugs are there should the tenants ever want to hoover the common parts (it's clear no-one has done this for years so at the moment the landlord does not pay anything).
Ideally I want a permanent extension in place. Partly because I will be using the...
Your probably right, but he's a nice reasonable guy who knows I need a decent place to work (medical text books aren't small!). Also if you could see the landing it's clear that the desk does not get in anyone's way. There's a little alcove just after our front door and then a dead end. It...
Hi - Can I apologize in advance for this very basic (and possibly stupid question).
Im a medical student and have just moved into a tiny flat with my girlfriend. There is no room for a desk in the flat so the landlord said that I could put one on the landing outside the flat (we're on the top...
