    Dunlop Waterproofing Smell!

Thanks for your comments guys - I've gone to Screwfix and got the proper stuff - better safe than sorry.

    Dunlop Waterproofing Smell!

Hi Everyone, My Plasterer has left me some 'Dunlop Waterproofing Coating' from his stash at home - very nice of him I thought, but I think he's pulling a fast one. To me it smells like watered down PVA - strange that as it's also in a PVA tub! I'm thinking if it walks like a duck, smells...

    Bathstore Euro Mono WC installation

Hi Richard, What did you do in the end? I've now got the same problem - the angle of the white v shaped bracket is totally the wrong angle which is made even worse when the wc screws are fitted. I'm thinking block of wood instead!

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

Just though it would be nice for those that have been following this saga to have an update on the new boiler plumbing. I was planning to simply switch the two returns to the boiler and see what happened. Luckily for me DIA popped over to have a look and it didn’t take much convincing from him...

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

Diagrams received - that's extremely kind of you and is much appreciated. My plan for the end of next week is to replumb the boiler end, swapping the two returns and also adding a magnaflow into the return path of the CH loop. I'll post again with the results for this modification -...

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

I'm 99% sure the diagram is right. I take it having a feed on the positive pressure side will have a tendency to push water back into the head tank? Mark

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

I think you're right, however, there is one major problem with that - the kitchen. The kitchen has a new T&G oak floor and is smack bang inbetween the utility room (which has a flat roof) and the airing cupboard. Access, to say the least, would be problematic  Mark

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

Thanks Tony - I missed that previous question. I don't have that data at the moment but I'll get it when I have some time. Any ideas on the electrical wiring?

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

I've just done a sketch of the system and it's about as physically accurate as I can get it without making a really messy drawing :-) I'd appreciate it if someone can look at it and make any comments http://photos.homeinbath.co.uk/main.php?g2_itemId=7709 kevindgas suggested just making...

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

I don't know if the cylinder has been replaced but it's unlikely to have been relocated, as far as I can tell it's the most logical place to fit it. That said, logic doesn't seem to have come into play for this installation ;-) Talking of vent and feed, there is no feed to the HW loop, just...

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

Hi everyone, Yes it is a two pumped system. Sorry about the 'new' house confusion, it's a 'new to me' house, bungalow actually but I'm in denial about living in a vertically challenged house ;-) The boiler was installed on 10 August 2001 which makes it about 8 years old. Interestingly...

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

This link has all the temperature information... http://photos.homeinbath.co.uk/main.php?g2_itemId=7702&g2_imageViewsIndex=1 But to put it in words, the flow and return temperatures differ by about 10 degC with the flow ranging from 45 degC to 60 degC depending on cylinder temperature. I did...

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

I'm positive that the central heating is pumped into the left hand pipes, GF and PR and that the hot water cylinder feed is pumped into the right hand pipes, PF and GR. There are no zone valves in the system. The cylinder pump is controlled by a cylinder stat. I've yet to prove it but I...

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

Erm, no it's not a wind up. I take it from your response that you agree that it's been installed totally incorrectly!

    Correct Boiler Plumbing?

Some background about my system… Boiler: Glow Worm Ultimate 50BF System: Twin Pumped, one pump near boiler that circulates the CH and another pump near the cylinder that circulates the feed to the cylinder’s coil. Controller: Honeywell ST699 controller I’ve been in my new house for...
