    Which Boiler would you recommend

Thanks for that MysteryMan - I hope there is too - thats all I'm looking for, a good reliable boiler - what would you recommend???!!!!!!

    Which Boiler would you recommend

I still think £1500+ is a sound investment for something which I would hope is going to last longer than a year. While I agree with you that many things are not so pricey nowadays (I remember buying my first video for £600+in the 80's which still works to this day!!!!) - I'm not sure about the...

    Which Boiler would you recommend

Yea, it's a sad fact of the times eh - is anything ever built to last these days??!!! - However, its a big investment and like anything else you do want it to last. I have read quite a bit on this forum and to be honest there are differing opinions on boilers but all state the same thing -...

    Which Boiler would you recommend

I have bought a flat which was a repossession and the last owner has taken out the heating system. All that remains is the copper piping and one radiator! As I'm renting it out, I'm not looking for anything fancy but on the same note I'm not looking for something which is likely to break down...

Vokera Mynute 28SE - Firing up problem

Thanks for that. We are a bit reluctant to get rid of the boiler, but have to say when it starts to act up in the winter months thats when it gets really frustrating. It always seems to be the same problem as I mentioned above. Having said that, we really don't know what boiler to replace it...

Vokera Mynute 28SE - Firing up problem

We have about 20 radiators in a 2 storey house. Also 3 showers and a bath. A combi system cannot heat all this water successfully at the one time and would also have pressure problems. Also we would only need to change the boiler at present and keep the hot water tank which sits next to the...

Vokera Mynute 28SE - Firing up problem

Yea he did check both fan and air pressure switch and they seem to be ok. The a.p. switch was only replaced about 2-3 years ago. I actually thought the fan must be on its way out myself as it shouldn't need cleaned as often as we seem to be cleaning this one. However, the engineer seemed to...

Vokera Mynute 28SE - Firing up problem

Just to let you know that the problem is solved (meantime!). The engineer took out the fan assembly yet again, cleaned it, cleaned the tubes (although he said they looked fine), had a look at the flue (there didn't seem to be an obstruction), put it all back together again and hey presto, it...

Vokera Mynute 28SE - Firing up problem

The engineer is gas registered but he's been at a loss to know why the problem keeps occurring. If its the flue, I just wanted to know what problems there would be with it. Have to say the flue's never been touched since the heating was installed about 7 years ago.

Vokera Mynute 28SE - Firing up problem

No haven't done that - what can we expect to find if that's the problem?

Vokera Mynute 28SE - Firing up problem

Wondered if anyone could give me some advice on a recurring problem with my Vokera. Engineer cannot get to the bottom of it either. After a few months the boiler will only fire if the inner silver casing is slightly open. Had the air pressure switch renewed about a couple of years ago...

Vokera Mynute 28SE - fan and noise problem

Can I ask DP again about my Vokera boiler. My motorised valve on the central heating part of the system is working ok (or appears to be) it was replaced last April. The other motorised valve is on the hot water side of the system and also seems fine. If the valve or the aux switch was sticky...

Vokera Mynute 28SE - fan and noise problem

Thanks for that DP, but would that not happen every time the heating goes off then via the timer? The pump has kept running only twice in the last few days and only after the heating has been on at night for approx. 4-5 hours.

Vokera Mynute 28SE - fan and noise problem

Sorry I think its the pump that is still running for approx. 30 mins after the boiler is switched off and not the fan.

Vokera Mynute 28SE - fan and noise problem

The last couple of days when my heating switches off the fan is still running for approx 30 mins and then a horrible banging noise starts (only lasts for a few seconds) somewhere in the region of the flue. It has only started doing this and not every time the heating goes off. I put the...
