Exactly...... I also need a smartcom if i buy a 64-w kit. That's why i decided to try it this way. If operating the alarm with a smartphone will work ok for us, i'll keep this panel. If not,i will buy 64-w and then have the smartcom already in my posession.

Haven't tried that. I ordered a smartcom. So we can use our phones for arming/disarming.
