    Rendering using Isovit eCork

That is what I thought until I looked into the forecast last night. There seems to be some days ahead with temperatures above 5C. I might have a chance to render it once for all.

    Advice on outbuilding wall insulation

For a workshop, the OSB is perfect. It is cheap, easy to install, stronger for when you hit stuff on the walls and great for the occasional screws. I diluted the paint quite a bit to ensure I would see the wooden chips texture which I think looks great. ...Perhaps more flammable though.

    Rendering using Isovit eCork

I got some exterior and some interior areas. I also used it as adhesive to stick the boards to the walls. Ok, I suppose 6mm in one go wouldn't be a major problem in terms of cracks, etc. Specially given the mesh inside. Thanks for sharing.

    Advice on outbuilding wall insulation

I finished it a long time ago, but never posted a picture of it. This is the inside back in 2022. It can be snowing outside but with a standard electric heater it is nice and cosy inside. I built both the desk and the cupboard above it.

    Rendering using Isovit eCork

Hi there, Has anyone used Isovit eCork to render external insulation (over wood fibre)? I understand you need to do a layering of 3mm then add the mesh, then another 3mm. What is not clear to me is whether you let it fully dry between layers, or is it done in one go. Thanks.

Consumer unit height when in the garage

Hi, Can someone confirm whether the consumer unit in a garage (setting up my man cave) has to follow the "1350mm and 1450mm from floor level" rule? It is not clear to me if this would only apply to habitable area. I'm insulating the place and would like to get conduits in place for the CU. TA

    Advice on outbuilding wall insulation

The floor is going to be simple. I'll level it, then I will lay a plastic sheeting to act as DPC before insulating it with Kingspan/Celotex style boards. @mrgobby What you described is what I was trying to explain in my post. Simply tank the frame from the inside. I suppose what they have done...

    Advice on outbuilding wall insulation

Hi, I have an outbuilding (garage/shed) which was there when I bought the house and I'm planning to insulate it so I can enjoy my DIY longer throughout the year. This is how it looks from outside: This 3D model shows the frame construction in more details: Basically the frame is just laid...

Cooker hood vent through flat roof

Hi Foxhole, 3 of the walls are against: neighbour, dining room and bathroom. The only external wall is opposite the cooker and has the lights wiring/box in the way. I could try to remove the facia board to have a look in terms of room to run the flat pipe. I suspect I would have to remove quite...

Cooker hood vent through flat roof

Hi Ree, Thanks for the info. Like I mentioned in the post I wouldn't do it myself but would contract a professional. My question was more towards the flue material itself.

Cooker hood vent through flat roof

Hi all, I'm installing a cooker hood in the kitchen that can only output via the kitchen's flat roof. The flat roof is made of tar an gravel. The question is, can I use this kit? Is asphalt compatible with tar and gravel roofs...
