Hi,

I put down the old wood fence in front of my terraced house and I'm now planning to build a brick + wood (or metal) wall.

I created a 3D model of my plan. As you can see, I will build the front and left walls:

The 3D model does not show, but the street has an inclination. My idea is to build the first rows of brick using dark engineering bricks. The engineering bricks would go from the footing under ground up to the point where there is a full visible row.

The aim is to avoid having to install a DPC and also for aesthetic (the pathway is a black tarmac).

1. Do you think I can skip the DPC on this outdoors wall?

2. Any advices on the lateral wall that connects with the house ?

Thanks,
-Filipe

1. You most certainly should skip the normal flexible dpc in a free-standing wall; the engineering brick will suffice.

2. just butt the wall up to the house wall.
