    Friedland door bell wiring

I have a Friedland doorbell which I took it down to redecorate , stupidly without noting which wire came from where. Can anyone advise? I have four wires coming from the wall (two from the button and two from the transformer), two are twisted together. On the doorbell I have connections...

bathroom timer fan replacement with humidistat fan

Problem identified - thank you! Yes, the old fan (Manrose XF100LV) is low voltage (12) and the new one is not. There is indeed a transformer in the wardrobe of the bedroom next door. So is there a straight forward solution - I can't find a low voltage fan with a humidistat, is that possible?

bathroom timer fan replacement with humidistat fan

Thank you Taylortwocities; I tried that but it doesn't work?! I presume the new one should come on when I switch the light on, like the last one did, rather than wait until the room is sufficiently humid? Perhaps I have my terminology wrong - I meant the old one would stay on for 2 minutes...

bathroom timer fan replacement with humidistat fan

I intend to replace a basic Manrose bathroom fan with a timer, with an Xpelair DX100H because it has a humidistat and a timer. Took a quick look to check the dimensions of the ducting and location of the housing all match, and am baffled by the wiring. It is running off a single blue and a...

What sort of circuit do I have?

I replaced the light, with an earth, and everything is rosy. However, the bathroom is now incredibly steamy - far beyond the capabilities of my old fan - so I am replacing it with a new Xpelair DX100H since that has a humidistat. But what keeps me awake at night is the thought of all the...

What sort of circuit do I have?

Thanks diyer, you are totally right - there is a fan with an overrun and I had completely forgotten that. So I can just run an additional earth from the 'third' choc block to the light?

What sort of circuit do I have?

I just moved into a new house and I need to change the bathroom light; it has no cover on the back or front so steam is getting both into the fitting and into the void above it. The wiring is a bit unexpected though, and provides no earth to the light itself. Can anyone tell me what this type...

Plumber recommendations for an unvented immersion heater?

The old economy 7 meter was replaced for a digital one last week and the clock is OK. Thank you - all suggestions are gratefully received!

Plumber recommendations for an unvented immersion heater?

Could anyone recommend me a qualified electrician/plumber (I'm not sure which) to take a look at my Heatrae Sadia megaflo immersion tank? The off-peak immersion heater provides hot water intermittently. It is unvented so I understand that I need someone with a particular qualification. I live...

off-peak electricity issue - please help!

gman76 you are a genius! No, I didn't know that - until it broke I didn't really pay attention to it. I switched them both on last night and they were hot this morning.......I appreciate this makes me very stupid, but our flat is so well insulated that we haven't ever needed heating. So, it...
